Democrats are all in to impeach President Trump and remove him from office.

The left is counting on the Mueller probe to deliver the smoking gun that will bring about the end of the Trump Presidency.

But that all ended when Rand Paul sat in front of the cameras and silenced the Democrats plan to impeach Trump.

Kentucky Senator Rand Paul appeared on CNN’s State of the Union to discuss the latest developments in the Russia investigation.

On Friday, special counsel Robert Mueller announced that his office indicted 12 Russians connected to the nation’s intelligence service for alleged cyber attacks during the 2016 election.

Democrats believe these indictments represent the next step in Mueller finally producing conclusive evidence that Trump and his campaign colluded with Vladimir Putin to steal the election from Hillary Clinton.

CNN host Jake Tapper pressed Paul on the Trump-Putin summit and demanded to know if Paul believed President Trump should hold Russia “accountable.”

“I think really we mistake our response if we think it’s about accountability from the Russians. They are another country. They are going to spy on us, do spy on us. They are going to interfere in our elections, we also do the same,” Paul answered.

Paul went on to cite a study showing that the United States interfered in other countries elections 81 times.

One example was when Barack Obama meddled in the last Israeli election.

Obama’s State Department funneled $250,000 to the opposition party in a bid to defeat Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in his 2015 campaign.

Obama tried to undermine Israel’s democracy by taking down Netanyahu because he had opposed Obama appeasing Iran.

Paul went on to flatly reject Tapper’s attempt to smear him by claiming Paul was saying that Russia and the United States are moral equivalents.

Paul shot back, “I would say it’s not morally equivalent.”

The Kentucky Senator continued, “But I think in [Russia’s] mind it is. It’s important to know in your adversary’s mind the way they perceive the thing. They react to our interference in their elections and one of the reasons they didn’t like Hillary Clinton, they found her responsible for some of the activity by the U.S. in their elections under the [Former President Barack] Obama administration.”

Paul also agreed with President Trump that the Mueller probe is a “witch hunt.”

“If we have proof that they did it, we should spend our time protecting ourselves instead of having this witch hunt on the president,” Paul declared.

Democrats impeachment hopes rest on the Mueller investigation.

But as Paul also pointed out, whatever cyber attacks occurred took place on Barack Obama’s watch.

And this investigation has still produced no evidence of conclusion.

The Department of Justice’s press release announcing the indictments also made it clear no Americans were involved in these alleged crimes.

The DOJ announced:

“There is no allegation in the indictment that any American was a knowing participant in the alleged unlawful activity or knew they were communicating with Russian intelligence officers.”

Mueller’s report is going to be a massive letdown for Democrats.

There is no evidence of collusion and Senator Paul’s comments demonstrate that both avenues the Democrats hope to use in the Mueller report to impeach President Trump are dead ends.
