Let there be no doubt that President Donald Trump is one tough guy. He truly doesn’t take crap from anyone.

And when it comes to representing the United States on the world stage, there hasn’t been a man like him in a very, very long time.

In a particularly demonstrative show of force, President Trump issued a stunning tweet to the President of Iran.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani had grown vociferously threatening as of late. Rouhani had recently said “America should know that peace with Iran is the mother of all peace, and war with Iran is the mother of all wars,”

And that is what got Trump’s hackles up.

Trump responded in kind with a fierce tweet written in all caps.

“Never, ever threaten the United States again or you will suffer consequences the likes of which few throughout history have ever suffered before. We are no longer a country that will stand for your demented words of violence & death. Be cautious!”

Now you might wonder where all this is coming from.

Iran really hasn’t been on the popular news radar as of late.

The reason Rouhani said anything in the first place was because a few days ago Secretary of State Mike Pompeo compared the leaders of Iran to mafia esque henchmen who would brutalize their own people to make their own lives better.

Trump has been paying attention to Iran’s brutality for a long time. Which is why he wasn’t about to take Rouhani’s remarks sitting down.

In Trump’s eyes, Iran is one of the most heinous regimes in existence. They’re disdain for their own people, Israel, and the American people is so high that Trump is obviously ready to respond to further abuse with direct action.

As the Hill reports:

White House national security adviser John Bolton — who has long held an adversarial stance toward Iran — later weighed in on the tweet.

“I spoke to the President over the last several days, and President Trump told me that if Iran does anything at all to the negative, they will pay a price like few countries have ever paid before,” Bolton said in a statement Monday morning.

No doubt many in the U.S. are going to see Trump’s stern (and possibly threatening) Tweet as a terrifying step towards global war.

But let us not forget Trump’s commitment to hardball has already done a great deal for world peace.

Trump’s firm dealings with North Korea caused the North Koreans to agree to denuclearize…

So it’s hopeful Trump can get the same kind of thing out of Iran too.
