Lately, Trump has made the move to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. He has also seen the U.S. Embassy’s relocation from Tel Aviv through.

Now, Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas and Rep. Ron DeSantis of Florida are also promoting the recognition of Golan Heights as sovereign Israeli territory.

Cruz and DeSantis’ have been asking for the implementation of trade agreements between Israel and the U.S. They’ve also been wanting a letter to be written, which recognizes the changes that have been happening on the ground.

This letter would be similar to the document former President George W. Bush gave to former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon before the 2005 disengagement. This letter gave acknowledgment of the the presence of large Israeli settlement blocs in both Judea and Samaria. The letter also gave the explanation it was “unrealistic” for Israel to withdraw completely.

However, the House Of Representatives recently been voting down efforts made by DeSantis.

There are many aspects of Cruz and DeSantis’ efforts. According to World Net Daily, these include:

… channeling funds into joint Israeli-American projects on the Golan Heights; expanding U.S.-Israeli agreements, such as the free-trade agreement between the two nations, to apply to the Golan Heights and labeling products manufactured or grown on the Golan as “Made in Israel”; formulating a congressional document declaring that Syria will not return to the Israeli Golan Heights; sending congressional delegations to the Golan Heights; and formulating congressional documents that recognize Israeli sovereignty over the Golan.
The Golan spans approximately 690 square miles. Its location borders the Yarmouk River, the Sea of Galilee, the Anti-Lebanon and Wadi Raqqad. After capturing the Golan Heights during the Six-Day War, Israel made the decision to annex the territory in 1981.
