Democrats and the fake news media believe Donald Trump’s political prospects are deteriorating.
Rumors even floated that Republicans were considering major changes to their nominating convention.
Donald Trump caused all hell to break loose with this shocking 2020 announcement.
In 2016, North Carolina was one of the Trump campaign’s “core four” swing states.
Along with Florida, Iowa and Ohio, North Carolina was among the key swing states that the Trump campaign needed to carry to win the election.
In 2020, North Carolina’s 15 Electoral College votes figure to play a pivotal role.
For that reason, the Republican National Committee voted to hold the 2020 national convention in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Republicans believed holding a four-day rally in North Carolina and bringing in tens of millions of dollars in economic activity would clinch Charlotte for November.
Then the coronavirus hit and North Carolina’s Democrat Governor, Roy Cooper, imposed a panic lockdown and shutoff the state’s economy.
Cooper then dragged his feet on reopening, and critics contend Cooper is one of the swing state Democrat governors keeping the economy shutdown to hurt President Trump’s re-election prospects.
President Trump alluded to Cooper’s political games in a series of posts on social media, claiming Republicans would have no choice but to move their convention to another state if Democrats prevented the GOP from holding a full capacity nominating convention.
“I love the Great State of North Carolina, so much so that I insisted on having the Republican National Convention in Charlotte at the end of August. Unfortunately, Democrat Governor, @RoyCooperNC is still in Shutdown mood & unable to guarantee that by August we will be allowed full attendance in the Arena. In other words, we would be spending millions of dollars building the Arena to a very high standard without even knowing if the Democrat Governor would allow the Republican Party to fully occupy the space,” President Trump wrote.
“Plans are being made by many thousands of enthusiastic Republicans, and others, to head to beautiful North Carolina in August. They must be immediately given an answer by the Governor as to whether or not the space will be allowed to be fully occupied. If not, we will be reluctantly forced to find, with all of the jobs and economic development it brings, another Republican National Convention site. This is not something I want to do. Thank you, and I LOVE the people of North Carolina!” the President concluded.
Governor Cooper tried to claim this was a public health issue.
“State health officials are working with the RNC and will review its plans as they make decisions about how to hold the convention in Charlotte. North Carolina is relying on data and science to protect our state’s public health and safety,” Cooper’s statement read.
This explanation fell flat.
Americans see what is going on here.
Democrats are planning on holding a virtual convention and the Democrat governor of North Carolina wants to deny the Republicans the chance to hold a fullcapacity, in-person gathering.
