FBI Director James Comey’s announcement he was reopening the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s email server was the ultimate October surprise.

Hillary Clinton and her team reacted by lashing out at the FBI Director.

But Congressman Trey Gowdy had an amazing response to the Democrats whining.

When Director Comey sent a letter to members of Congress informing them the Bureau had uncovered new emails pertaining to Hillary Clinton’s server while investigating top Clinton aide Huma Abedin’s husband for sending illicit messages to a 15 year old-girl, the trajectory of Hillary’s campaign changed.

The media could no longer push the narrative that Hillary was coasting to an easy victory.

And in the face of falling poll numbers, Clinton and her team responded by attacking the integrity of the FBI Director.

The New York Times reported Hillary Clinton had lumped Director Comey in with Republicans as the partisan opponents she must overcome in her campaign’s final days:

“Campaigning in Florida, Mrs. Clinton appeared to group Mr. Comey’s surprise role in the presidential race with the flurry of partisan attacks that often mark the last days of political campaigns. Without mentioning Mr. Comey by name, Mrs. Clinton struck a defiant note; at a nightclub in Wilton Manors, she invoked her mother’s admonition to “never, ever quit.”

“We won’t be distracted, no matter what our opponents throw at us,” Mrs. Clinton said. “We’re not going to be knocked off course. We know how much this election matters, and we know how many people are counting on us.”

She also blasted the decision at a campaign stop in Florida.

Harry Reid claimed Director Comey violated the law by showing political favoritism to Republicans by not releasing supposed “evidence” that the Russians were interfering in the election.

And Clinton surrogates – all the way from campaign manager, Robby Mook, up to Vice Presidential nominee, Tim Kaine – took to the Sunday shows to declare they were “puzzled” by Director Comey’s decision.

But Trey Gowdy was having none of it.

The only reason this is a story is because Hillary Clinton broke the law by setting up a private email server.

Fox News reports:

“Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) believes Hillary Clinton has no one to blame but herself for the FBI’s newly reopened investigation into her private email server.

On “The Kelly File” tonight, Gowdy said the whole situation is “extraordinary,” but that’s because Clinton had an “extraordinary email arrangement” while she was secretary of state.

“She is the author of her own destiny,” Gowdy said. “Everything that has happened since then is the natural, probable consequence of deciding you’re going to have a rogue email system.”

“I understand she’s upset, and I understand she doesn’t like the timing, but she need look no further than herself.”

He also released a statement applauding Director Comey for informing Congress about the discovery of the new emails.

Do you agree with Trey Gowdy that Hillary has no one to blame but herself?
