Lebron James is one of the most famous athletes on the planet.
But he’s turning into one of the worst social justice warriors in all of sports.
And the cover photo he took for Sports Illustrated proved just how far in the tank he is for the left.
During the campaign, James endorsed Hillary Clinton.
He campaigned for her in his native state of Ohio.
His support had little effect as Trump thrashed Hillary in the Buckeye State on his way to winning a decisive Electoral College victory.
Since the election, Lebron James has increased his anti-Trump activism.
James was named Sports Illustrated’s 2016 Sportsmen of the Year.
In the photo celebrating his victory, James was wearing a safety pin.
The “safety pin protest” is the left-wing Americans’ way of identifying themselves as a “safe space” for minorities, women, immigrants, Muslims and any other group who believes they are under siege in the age of Trump.
When accepting the award, James nodded to his past athletes and claimed his victory was the culmination of “racial justice.”
“James accepted the award while paying tribute to black athletes of the past, and their stands on racial justice. James said, “This award is for the great Muhammad Ali, for Bill Russell, for Jim Brown, for Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. They sacrificed everything that could’ve happened to them. [They] could have been stripped of everything that they had accomplished to that point. But their calling and their reasoning for doing what they had to do was for a night like tonight.
“That in 2016 in Brooklyn, New York, we all can sit up here as African-Americans, white Americans… that we all can sit in one room and just say, “wow, this is an unbelievable night in not only sports, but in life.” It’s never about the individual, it’s always about the people behind him.”
This isn’t James’ first act of anti-Trump activism.
He refused to stay in a Trump branded hotel in Soho when his Cleveland Cavaliers traveled to New York for a game against the Knicks.
The Hollywood Reporter reports:
“The Cavaliers have made other arrangements for players who do not want to stay at a New York hotel branded by President-elect Donald Trump.
LeBron James and several teammates have decided not to stay at Trump Soho in lower Manhattan this week. The Cavs booked rooms at the luxury hotel for two days, as the team will play the Knicks on Wednesday.
Cavs general manager David Griffin told the Associated Press that the team has made plans for a “group that wants to be together elsewhere.” Griffin did not say where the players will be staying.
James publicly endorsed and campaigned for Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton, who lost the election to Trump. Several of his teammates, including Richard Jefferson and Iman Shumpert, have expressed their disappointment over Trump’s win.”
After Lebron James arrogantly staged a televised special where he announced he was leaving his home state Cleveland Cavaliers to play for the Miami Heat, James became one of the biggest villains in all of sports.
He won over many detractors when he returned home to Cleveland and led the Cavaliers to their city’s first title since 1964.
But now he’s risking alienating millions of fans with his far-left wing activism.
