No state has been closer in the 2020 Presidential Election than Georgia.
And while the final winner remains in doubt, all signs point to Trump having a clear path to winning the state.
But now, one pro-Biden glitch could end up costing Trump Georgia, and the entire election.
When the polls closed on election night in 2020, all eyes fell on the key midwestern battleground states in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.
But one state in particular appears to be poised to deliver the Presidency to Joe Biden, and it’s a state that no one could have predicted would turn against President Trump.
In Georgia, Biden currently maintains a slim lead of a few thousand votes against Trump after days of returns continue to pour into the state, which ultimately erased President Trump’s large Election Day lead in the traditionally Republican state.
And now, it appears as if Biden will win Georgia, and thus the entire Presidency.
But as Trump’s campaign works around the clock to battle Biden in a series of lawsuits related to the counting of ballots in states like Georgia, new evidence suggests a pro-Biden election glitch could have cost Trump Georgia.
RealClearPolitics reports, “A curious thing happened as Fulton County, Ga., election officials counted mail-in ballots at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena in the days after the election. In the early hours of Nov. 5, a surge of some 20,000 mail-in votes suddenly appeared for Joe Biden, while approximately 1,000 votes for President Trump mysteriously disappeared from his own totals in the critical swing state, where Biden holds a razor-thin lead.”
Until just recently, Trump held a sizable lead in Georgia, a state he won by roughly five points in 2016 and which forms the key to any successful Republican victory in the electoral college.
Yet in recent days, batches of mail-in ballots from across the Atlanta metro area have swung the race wildly towards Joe Biden, who now appears well on track to winning the state’s critical 16 electoral college votes.
Now others are asking how the state could have swung so hard to the left in such a short amount of time.
“A poll watcher noticed the suspicious shift in votes while monitoring the interim election results on the Georgia secretary of state website,” reports RealClearPolitics.
“I concluded from looking at these results that this was an irregularity, since there was no obvious reason for President Trump’s totals to have decreased while former Vice President Biden’s totals increased dramatically,” said Voter GA co-founder Garland Favorito in an affidavit he filed this week alleging voting irregularities with the Georgia Secretary of State’s office.
“Favorito suspects a variety of factors, including that votes were ‘artificially inflated’ for Biden while using the same Dominion Voting system used by Antrim County, Mich., which erroneously transferred 6,000 votes from Trump to Biden. Last year, Georgia contracted with Dominion to automate vote tabulations in all 159 of its counties,” concludes RealClearPolitics.
A hand recount is now underway, as Biden currently leads Trump by 14,000 votes in the state.
