Democrats didn’t know what hit them.

The left was counting on this October surprise to push Joe Biden over the finish line.

But the Supreme Court dealt Nancy Pelosi a defeat that may turn the tables in 2020.

Democrats won two lower court cases demanding access to the redacted grand jury material from the Mueller report and underlying evidence.

But the Trump administration appealed and the case reached the Supreme Court.

In a major blow to Democrats, the Supreme Court did not rule immediately on the case and instead announced it would hear arguments on the matter this October, meaning a decision will not come down until after the election.

POLITICO reported, “The justices agreed Thursday to consider whether the House should be given permission to access the grand jury secrets contained in Mueller’s final report, as well as its underlying evidence. That decision, despite two lower court rulings supporting access to the secret information, ensures that no final decision will be rendered before voters decide whether to grant Trump a second term.”

Democrat House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler fumed.

“While I am confident their legal arguments will fail, it is now all the more important for the American people to hold the President accountable at the ballot box in November,” Nadler raged.

Even though Mueller found no evidence of a conspiracy between the Trump campaign and Russia, Democrats hoped the grand jury material and underlying evidence could be selectively leaked all October to provide the kill shot to Trump’s re-election campaign.

This was the Democrats’ planned “October Surprise.”

The current term has seen conservatives suffer a number of defeats at the Supreme Court.

Chief Justice John Roberts revealed himself to be a full-fledged liberal in siding with the left to grant special rights to homosexuals and transgenders, blocking the President from rolling back Barack Obama’s lawless amnesty program as well as striking down pro-life legislation.

In addition, the court refused to hear challenges to gun control and laws that allow for abortion on demand.

But there is no doubt this is a defeat for the left.

Even if the court rules in the Democrats’ favor, the victory will ring hollow.

If Donald Trump wins the election, there is zero appetite in the country for a second impeachment go-round – especially from the Mueller report that failed to accuse the President of any crime and that the Democrats passed on including in their 2019 articles of impeachment.

Should Donald Trump lose the election, the disclosures won’t have any political bite.

The only danger would be the incoming Biden administration trying to indict President Trump on obstruction of justice charges, but that would tear the country apart and blow up any chance for the Democrats to move their agenda through Congress.
