Joe Biden’s claims of being the President-elect hit a major roadblock.
This setback came from the last place anyone expected.
And the military stopped Joe Biden’s presidential transition with this one order.
Top officials at the Pentagon and the Biden transition team will put off all meetings until the New Year which amounted to a two-week pause.
The media reported the Trump administration initiated the cancellation.
Axios reported, “Acting Defense Secretary Chris Miller ordered a Pentagon-wide halt to cooperation with the transition of President-elect Biden, shocking officials across the Defense Department, senior administration officials tell Axios.”
Acting Defense Secretary Miller disputed the Axios report explaining that both sides agreed to push back any meetings until after the New Year.
“At no time has the Department cancelled or declined any interview. … After the mutually-agreed upon holiday, which begins tomorrow, we will continue with the transition and rescheduled meetings from today,” Miller explained.
Biden transition director Yohannes Abraham claimed they did not agree to this.
“Let me be clear: there was no mutually agreed upon holiday break. In fact, we think it’s important that briefings and other engagements continue during this period as there’s no time to spare, and that’s particularly true in the aftermath of ascertainment delay.”
Axios claimed the Trump team bagged the meetings with the Biden team after Biden transition officials leaked a story to the Washington Post about how much money a potential President Biden could save by canceling construction on the border wall.
“Fury at the Biden team among senior Pentagon officials escalated after the Washington Post published a story on Wednesday night revealing how much money would be saved if Biden halted construction of Trump’s border wall,” Axios also reported.
This time it was the Trump administration disputing Axios’ report stating that the workload for top Pentagon officials meant they had to put off the meetings until the New Year.
“We had fewer than two dozen remaining meetings on the schedule today and next week,” a senior Pentagon official told Axios, and that “the DoD staff working the meetings were overwhelmed by the number of meetings.”
“These same senior leaders needed to do their day jobs and were being consumed by transition activities. … With the holidays we are taking a knee for two weeks. We are still committed to a productive transition,” the official added.
This is the most difficult potential transition period in American history.
Biden is trying to act like the President and usurp President Trump’s bully pulpit on the coronavirus while at the same time President Trump and his allies assert that Joe Biden stole the election through massive voter fraud and is an illegitimate President-elect with no rightful claim to the White House.
