Barack Obama has engaged an unyielding mission to empty the terrorist detention facility at Guantanamo Bay.

He has endangered our national security by releasing nearly 150 jihadists from the prison.

But it’s his latest release that left observers scratching their heads.

In a weekend news dump – which is typically done to bury information politicians don’t want the voters to see – the Obama regime announced they were shipping nine terrorists to Saudi Arabia.

CNN reports:

“The United States is transferring nine detainees from the detention facility at Guantanamo Bay to Saudi Arabia, the Pentagon said Saturday.

The transfer, which brings the number of prisoners remaining at Guantanamo to 80, comes amid President Barack Obama’s renewed effort to close the prison — one of the earliest pledges of his presidency.

It also comes ahead of Obama’s planned trip to Saudi Arabia next week.

The Defense Department expressed gratitude to the kingdom in a statement on Saturday.

“The United States is grateful to the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its humanitarian gesture and willingness to support ongoing U.S. efforts to close the Guantanamo Bay detention facility,” the statement said.

The Department of Defense identified the men as Ahmed Umar Abdullah Al-Hikimi, Abdul Rahman Mohammed Saleh Nasir, Ali Yahya Mahdi Al-Raimi, Tariq Ali Abdullah Ahmed Ba Odah, Muhammed Abdullah Muhammed Al-Hamiri, Ahmed Yaslam Said Kuman, Abd al Rahman Al-Qyati, Mansour Muhammed Ali Al-Qatta and Mashur Abdullah Muqbil Ahmed Al-Sabri.”

The transfer is controversial for a number of reasons.

Chief among them is the danger released Gitmo prisoners pose to America.

One third of former Gitmo inmates have returned to the battlefield.

And American Patriot Daily has previously reported on the jihadists set loose from Gitmo killing Americans.

But the announcement that nine terrorists are being transferred to Saudi Arabia is raising eye brows in light of recent events.

There has been a push by both former and current members of Congress for the release of the secret 28 pages of the 9/11 Commission report, which is raising troubling questions about the country’s knowledge of the terrorist attacks.

And there is legislation in Congress to allow the victim’s families to sue foreign governments for their responsibility in the 9/11 attacks.

Saudi Arabia has threatened to sell $750 million in U.S. assets as retaliation, should the bill pass.

Obama famously bowed to the Saudi King just months after taking office.

And now CNN reports his regime is bowing again to the Saudi royal family by pressuring Congress not to pass this legislation:

“The Obama administration has, in turn, applied heavy pressure on Congress to block the bill. Top officials from the State Department and Pentagon warned Senate Armed Services Committee staffers last month that the bill could bring economic risks to the U.S.”

But given the role Saudi Arabia may have played in the 9/11 attacks, and their threats of retaliation over legislation in Congress, why is the Obama regime handing over nine terrorists?

If the reports are true, the Saudi government knew the attacks were planned and did nothing to warn us – and maybe even played an active role in financing the terrorists.

Given the percentage of terrorists known to return to the battlefield once released from Gitmo, critics contend releasing nine more terrorists seriously threatens American’s lives and national security.
