Donald Trump celebrated after Senate Republicans confirmed Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court.
But Democrats refused to accept defeat.
And Nancy Pelosi turned to the last person she ever expected to destroy Amy Coney Barrett.
As soon as Clarence Thomas swore Amy Coney Barrett in at the White House, Democrats demanded vengeance.
That was not surprising.
But what did raise eyebrows was that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez were both on the same page backing the radical court-packing scheme as the Democrats’ preferred form of payback for the President and Senate exercising their constitutional authority to nominate and confirm a Supreme Court Justice.
“Republicans do this because they don’t believe Dems have the stones to play hardball like they do. And for a long time they’ve been correct. But do not let them bully the public into thinking their bulldozing is normal but a response isn’t. There is a legal process for expansion.” Ocasio-Cortez posted on social media. “Expand the court.”
Nancy Pelosi echoed comments to pack the court and undo Donald Trump’s over 200 District and Circuit Court nominations by having Congress create new courts that a President Joe Biden could pack with 100 percent left-wing activists.
“I think that Joe Biden has given us a good path. He’s going to have something that people can understand why this is important. And I like something that Brian said about, not just the Supreme Court, but the other courts. … In 1876, there were nine justices on the court. Our population has grown enormously since then. Should we expand the court? Well, let’s take a look and see. But not — and that relates to the nine district courts, maybe we need more district courts as well. And one other thing we need, we need for these justices to disclose their holdings,” Pelosi told MSNBC host Chris Hayes.
Ever since the Democrats won control of the House, Pelosi fought to restrain Ocasio-Cortez and her fellow radical socialists.
Ocasio-Cortez and her fellow travelers support politically toxic proposals like the 93 trillion dollar Marxist Green New Deal and a government takeover of healthcare.
Pelosi blocked votes on these socialist crown jewels because it could imperil Democrats that flipped Trump districts in 2018 and poison the political environment for Joe Biden.
Packing the Supreme Court is also wildly unpopular.
A recent New York Times/Siena poll found that Americans opposed this radical scheme by a nearly two to one margin, 58 percent to 31 percent.
But Pelosi supporting this dangerous idea is a hint that Pelosi and a potential President Biden can hold off the energized and activist radical left for only so long.
And that if Democrats win power in 2020 it will be Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her fellow “Squad” members calling the shots.
