Nancy Pelosi

Nancy Pelosi is doing everything in her power to capitalize on this moment.

Democrats think the civil unrest and riots in the streets mean Donald Trump is doomed to defeat.

To make sure Democrats leave no stone unturned in their effort to oust Trump,Nancy Pelosi did something to four Democrats that took everyone by surprise.

America doesn’t have a perfect history but that doesn’t mean Americans can’t be proud of their history.

The radical left seems to think that America has no history to be proud of until twenty years ago.

Every nation on the earth has injustices as part of their history.

America shouldn’t erase America’s heritage because it was marred by slavery and racism.

Pelosi seems to be willing to tear the country apart on an issue that there should be agreement on.

There was total consensus in America that George Floyd’s death was wrong and the officers involved should be punished.

But the Black Lives Matter movement goes far beyond trying to root out racism.

People should be treated with justice in America but removing statues and taking down pictures is pointlessly antagonistic and dividing America.

Nancy Pelosi’s own father, Thomas D’Alesandro Jr., talked about how important it was to help build national unity between the North and the South when he dedicated the Stonewall Jackson and Robert E. Lee Monument.

“Today with our nation beset by subversive groups and propaganda which seeks to destroy our national unity, we can look for inspiration to the lives of Lee and Jackson to remind us to be resolute and determined in preserving our sacred institutions … remain steadfast in our determination to preserve freedom, not only for ourselves, but for other liberty-loving nations who are striving to preserve their national unity as free nations,” said D’Alesandro.

Pelosi should listen to her father’s words.

Instead, she’s busy tearing pictures off the walls of the Capitol building.

Pelosi is going to remove the pictures of four former Speakers of the House – all of whom were Democrats and also were part of the Confederacy.

“Pelosi said she has ordered House Clerk Cheryl L. Johnson to remove the portraits of former Speakers Robert Hunter of Virginia (1839-41), Howell Cobb of Georgia (1849-51), James Orr of South Carolina (1857-59), and Charles Crisp of Georgia (1891-95). All four men were part of the Confederacy in one form or another.” The Washington Examiner reported.

Charles Crisp joined the Confederate Army when he was just 16 years old, he was taken as a prisoner of war when he was 19, and was part of 600 captured Confederate soldiers who were intentionally starved by the Union.

As Speaker, Crisp was most notable for helping pass the Interstate Commerce Act of 1887 to keep railroad monopolies from strangling small businesses and farmers.

Nancy Pelosi has decided this man was a monster and must be removed.

“As I have said before, there is no room in the hallowed halls of this temple of democracy to memorialize people who embody violent bigotry and grotesque racism of the Confederacy,” Pelosi said.

If bigotry has no place in the halls of the Capitol, perhaps Pelosi should remove her own portrait.
