When Donald Trump announced his candidacy for president back in June of 2015, not many people took him seriously. The establishment snickered and rallied behind their golden boy, Jeb Bush, (whose campaign ended in a massive and humiliating failure) and conservatives were split between Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, and Dr. Ben Carson.

But while political pundits ignored Trump’s outlandish statements such as, “He’s not a war hero. He’s a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren’t captured,” referencing Senator McCain or “Look at that face! Would anyone vote for that? Can you imagine that, the face of our next president?“, referring to then presidential candidate Carly Fiorina, little did they know Trump was gaining unprecedented momentum from the American people.

First there was Iowa, where Trump placed second. While many were startled he even placed in the top three, others were relieved his campaign didn’t have what it took to make it to the top. Many political insiders wrote him off and continued to ignore him.

But after three first place finishes in New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada, one thing is certain — the Trump Machine will be hard to stop.

When asked about the success of his campaign after his third consecutive win, CNN reported Trump’s response:

“We weren’t expected to win too much and now we’re winning, winning, winning the country,” Trump said. “And soon the country is going to start winning, winning, winning.”

“We won the evangelicals,” he said. “We won with young. We won with old. We won with highly-educated. We won with poorly- educated. I love the poorly-educated.”

So what’s the secret to Trump’s success? How did the outspoken (and often unhinged) businessman take down the political machine?

It’s simple.

The American people are angry and fed up with slick politicians and their broken promises. For years, the establishment has played the grassroots for fools. And after eight years of Obama’s rule, our country is a mess. We are over 19 trillion dollars in debt, ObamaCare is destroying our healthcare system, and many believe the only man that can save America is Donald Trump.

Politico reports:

It couldn’t have worked for anyone else. Everything that explains the first-time candidate’s mind-blowing success — his uncanny ability to read and react to people and to bait his foes into positions of weakness, his eagerness to accept risk, and above all, his ability to trust his gut to navigate the race while eschewing professional guidance — is the result of an entire career in the public spotlight and the ruthless worlds of New York real estate, media and politics.
