John Bolton dropped his anti-Trump book just months before the election to inflict maximum damage on President Trump’s re-election campaign.
But there was just a stunning turn of events.
John Bolton heard the four words that had all hell breaking loose.
Excerpts from former National Security Advisor John Bolton’s anti-Trump smear book,“In the Room Where It Happened: A White House Memoir” leaked to the Washington Post, New York Times and the Wall Street Journal.
This coordinated leak campaign was designed to flood the zone and dominate news coverage with Bolton’s sensational and evidence-free charges that President Trump sold out America to foreign countries.
In the published excerpts, the chief example of Bolton alleging that Trump sold out America was in his dealings with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Bolton claimed Trump begged President Xi to meddle in the 2020 election by increasing their purchases of farm goods.
According to Bolton’s book, this took place in a private meeting at the G20 summit.
“Trump then, stunningly, turned the conversation to the coming U.S. presidential election, alluding to China’s economic capability and pleading with Xi to ensure he’d win,” Bolton wrote.
“He stressed the importance of farmers and increased Chinese purchases of soybeans and wheat in the electoral outcome. I would print Trump’s exact words, but the government’s prepublication review process has decided otherwise,” Bolton added.
In testimony before the United States Senate, U.S. Trade Representative RobertLighthizer – under oath – flat out denied Bolton’s assertions.
“Absolutely untrue, never happened. I was there, I have no recollection of that ever happening. I don’t believe it’s true, I don’t believe it ever happened,” Lighthizer told the Senate.
Lighthizer went so far as to say it was impossible that he wouldn’t remember something as crazy as the President of the United States begging the Chinese President to interfere in the election on his behalf.
“Would I have recollected something as crazy as that? Of course I would,” Lighthizer said.
This is not the first time a Trump administration official went on the record to deny Bolton’s smears about President Trump.
During the impeachment hoax, Bolton first leaked this book in hopes of swinging the outcome of the trial.
Part of that broadside was claiming Bolton met with Attorney General Barr over his concerns with President Trump’s conduct.
Justice Department Spokeswoman Kerri Kupec released an on-the-record statement denying that Attorney General Barr called President Trump’s phone call with the Ukrainian President “improper.”
Bolton has a serious problem with the truth going back decades.
In 2002, Bolton helped the Bush administration launch the war in Iraq by falsely claiming Saddam Hussein possessed weapons of mass destruction.
Bolton is not a trustworthy narrator.
He’s a swamp creature out for revenge.
And there are on-the-record denials of his outrageous claims.
