Joe Biden and Donald Trump staged one of the strangest and most dramatic presidential election contests ever.
The election stretched into December.
And Joe Biden just conceded defeat to Donald Trump in this surprising setting.
Joe Biden is claiming to be President-elect and part of his strategy is acting like the President-elect to make it seem like Donald Trump’s quest to win a second term is over.
As part of this act, Biden delivered year-end remarks from his home base in Delaware.
Biden touched on the issue of immigration and admitted defeat on his pledge to undo Donald Trump’s immigration executive orders and open up the border on day one.
“The timeline is to do it so that we, in fact, make it better not worse,” Biden stated. “I will do what I said. It’s going to take — not Day 1 — it’s going to take probably the next six months to put that in place.”
During the campaign Biden promised to end the Migrant Protection Protocols and other deals with South American and Central American countries to prevent asylum seekers on day one.
But reality set in.
The coronavirus pandemic rendered open borders a public health threat and illegal aliens believing Biden won the election began to surge in numbers attempting to cross the borders believing amnesty was on the way.
Susan Rice—who will chair the Domestic Policy Council if Biden becomes President—telegraphed Biden’s surrender on reversing President Trump’s immigration orders on day one in an interview with the Spanish wire service EFE.
“We will be able to take some steps to change policies right away,” Rice stated. “Others will take time to put in place, and the situation at the border will not transform overnight due in large part to the damage done over the last four years. But we are committed to addressing it in full.”
Rice admitted Biden lied about doing a day one reversal and was admitting defeat on this front.
“Our priority is to reopen asylum processing at the border consistent with the capacity to do so safely and to protect public health, especially in the context of Covid-19,” Rice explained. “This effort will begin immediately, but it will take months to develop the capacity that we will need to reopen fully.”
Socialists were furious.
Minnesota Congresswoman Ilhan Omar ripped Biden for floating a “bait and switch.”
“This is a classic bait and switch,” Omar ranted on social media. “It perpetuates Trump’s dehumanization of migrants and breaks a core campaign promise. Democrats lose big when administrations won’t fulfill their promise. I urge the Biden transition team to reconsider this position.”
If Biden becomes President on January 20, his administration will stumble right out of the gate as Biden waves the white flag of surrender on rolling back Donald Trump’s signature policy initiative.
