Democrats have a terrible sex scandal that they need to keep hidden at all costs.
Ilhan Omar took a public stand that’s horrified them.
Ilhan Omar said nine words that brought the Democrats’ 2020 hopes to an end.
The Minnesota Congresswoman is no stranger to sexual scandals.
There have been longstanding rumors that she married her brother in order for him to get a visa.
Ilhan Omar is now on her third marriage, having just recently married her political consultant who she denied having an affair with.
Omar has good reasons to side with the #MeToo movement that presumes women are always innocent of sexual misconduct.
She’s one of the few Democrats who have come out in support of Tara Reade.
Tara Reade accused Joe Biden of sexually assaulting her when she worked as an aide in his Senate office in 1993.
Most Democrats have been inconsistent in their standards, including Biden himself.
“For a woman to come forward in the glaring lights of focus, nationally, you’ve got to start off with the presumption that at least the essence of what she’s talking about is real, whether or not she forgets facts, whether or not it’s been made worse or better over time. But nobody fails to understand that this is like jumping into a cauldron,” Biden said at the time of the Kavanaugh hearings.
Omar is willing to publicly say she believes Reade’s claims. She said to the U.K.’s Sunday Times, “Justice can be delayed, but should never be denied.”
“There’s a lot of unsavory stuff. It is troubling. I do believe Tara Reade. I believe it’s important for us to give space for women to come forward and share their stories,” Omar told the British newspaper. “It takes years and years for sexual assault survivors to come forward. Justice can be delayed, but it should never be denied.”
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, another in the “Squad,” acknowledged that the allegations against Biden are serious.
“There have been investigative journalists that have corroborated certain aspects of her account – that is undeniable – [and] have raised questions about other aspects of her account,” Ocasio-Cortez told NPR. “It certainly seems as though something has happened. I’m not sure… Frankly, this is a messy moment, and I think we need to acknowledge that – that it is not clear-cut.”
But while Ilhan Omar says she believes Reade and wants justice, Omar is still going to support Biden for president and says that she’ll “vote for him and help him defeat Trump.”
“We can’t fend off perceived attacks with attacks on others,” Omar wrote Monday. “This is the most important election cycle of our lifetimes and we aren’t going to have a chance if we don’t spend our energy in mobilizing and building enthusiasm against Trump. That’s the goal we should all be united on.”
That’s a horrifying position to take.
Not all accusations of sexual assault are true and not all of them should be believed. Accusations of sexual assault should be carefully considered by voters.
Reade should not automatically be believed, but if her claims against Joe Biden are valid, they should disqualify Biden from being president.
