Rumors of tension between Donald Trump and Dr. Anthony Fauci swirled around Washington.
Some Americans thought Dr. Fauci turned on Donald Trump in an interview on fake news CNN.
Now Dr. Fauci made one confession about Trump that stunned Americans into silence.
During an interview with fake news CNN host Jake Tapper, Dr. Fauci bit on Tapper’s question on if lives would have been saved had mitigation efforts had been put in place earlier.
The fake news loved Dr. Fauci’s answer that hypothetically this was true because it feeds their new hoax narrative that Donald Trump sat around watching cable news, tweeting and playing golf while the virus spread, thus the deaths that occurred were blood on President Trump’s hands.
The following day at the White House press briefing, Dr. Fauci torched the media for their irresponsible reporting.
Dr. Fauci made it clear that contrary to a fake news story in The New York Times, there was no pushback from President Trump and other officials are instituting social distancing guidelines.
“The first and only time that Dr. Birx and I went in and formally made a recommendation, to the president, to actually have a ‘shutdown’ in the sense of not really shut down, but to really have strong mitigations, obviously there would be some concern by some that in fact that might have some negative consequences. Nonetheless, the president listened to the recommendation. The next second time that I went in with Dr. Birx in to the president and said 15 days are not enough, we need to go 30 days, obviously people had a problem with that, because of the potential secondary effects. Nonetheless, at that time, the president went with the health recommendations,” Fauci explained.
Dr. Fauci went so far as to note that the first and only time he and Dr. Deborah Birx recommended the President order social distancing, the President agreed.
“I can just tell you the first and only time that I went in and said we should do mitigation strongly, the response was ‘Yes, we’ll do it,’” he said.
But Dr. Fauci lost patience when fake news reporter Paula Reid of CBS demanded to know if the President marched Dr. Fauci out to the podium to make a hostage video-style confession.
“Are you doing this voluntarily?” Reid asked.
“No … everything I do is voluntary,” Dr. Fauci fired back. “Don’t even imply that.”
New York City recorded its first confirmed case of coronavirus on March 1.
On that date, there were two confirmed coronavirus deaths in the entire United States.
These facts are why the task force didn’t recommend a shutdown at that point.
The facts on the ground did not warrant shutting down the economy and throwing 20 million Americans out of work.
This narrative the fake news media promotes about Donald Trump not acting quickly enough is a work of fantasy that wasn’t supported by the science.
