Tucker Carlson has served as one of the chief critics of Dr. Tony Fauci’s strategy to combat the coronavirus.
Now all hell is breaking loose.
And that’s because Dr. Fauci just accused Tucker Carlson of this ugly crime.
The Washington Post’s Geoff Edgers interviewed Dr. Fauci and Edgers asked Fauci about Tucker Carlson’s repeated criticisms of Fauci and his support for economically disastrous shutdowns and universal mask mandates.
Fauci tried to bully Carlson into silence by claiming Carlson incited death and terroristic threats against him.
“I’m not concerned about what he says,” Fauci told Edgers. “It’s a little bit — I think you could say that when he does that, it triggers some of the crazies in society to start threatening me, actually threatening, which actually happens.”
As typical of the left, Fauci wants to muzzle any critics.
Today’s left takes to the streets, threatens violence and even harasses people’s employers in order to clamp down on anyone that would disagree with them.
In this case, Fauci tried to shame Carlson into dropping his criticism.
But it didn’t work.
That same night, Carlson dissected Fauci’s disastrous advice on combating the coronavirus by checking off the economic and mental toll the lockdowns inflicted on Americans.
Carlson noted that 12 percent of households are short on food and 20 percent of renters are behind on their payments.
The Centers for Disease Control reported that 25 percent of young adults considered suicide.
Carlson contrasted these grim statistics to Dr. Fauci’s cavalier attitude toward this pain, noting back in March that it was an “inconvenience.”
“People are abandoning their pets, prescriptions are going unfilled, we could go on. Big parts of this country are becoming poor, but you don’t hear about it much, because to the media and our leaders in Washington, it’s not a big deal. They can’t imagine worrying about money,” Carlson began.
“Here’s Tony Fauci, the most political man in the most political city in America, telling you that going broke isn’t really a big deal,” Carlson added.
“I know it’s difficult, but we’re having a lot of suffering, a lot of death. This is inconvenient from an economic and a personal standpoint, but we just have to do it,” Dr. Fauci told the “Today Show.”
Carlson expressed his exasperation at Fauci not understanding – or caring – about the devastation his lockdowns caused the American people.
That led Carlson to conclude that Fauci was not a man of science, but a power mad political actor drunk on his newfound authority and fame.
“Now it’s clear Fauci is just another oily politician on an ego trip, just like the rest of them,” Carlson said.
Carlson concluded by calling Dr. Fauci a “buffoon.”
