Democrats aren’t interested in keeping elections safe and secure.
But this time they crossed a line.
Donald Trump is starting a court battle that could wreck Democrats’ plans.
Americans are told all the time by the media how to avoid the coronavirus.
Social distance, wear masks and stay six feet apart.
Even Americans who are living their lives by these rules are still buying their own groceries and calling a plumber when there’s a leak.
It’s easily possible to have a voting system that follows the Democrats’ ideal guidelines and is no more of a risk than a trip to the store.
There is already an absentee ballot system in place in America for people that can’t make it to the polls.
The coronavirus is no reason to change the voting system.
Yet Democrats are trying very hard to do just that.
Nancy Pelosi threatened to stop coronavirus relief if ballot harvesting wasn’t included as part of the legislation.
California is already sending ballots to every registered voter in the state, but Democrats in Nevada have taken it even further.
They are not only going to mail ballots to every registered voter in the state, they are also going to allow strangers to fill them out.
“The bill goes on to permit some voters, namely the elderly and those with physical disabilities, to request that someone else fill out and hand in their ballot, a practice Republican legislators repeatedly decried as illegal ‘ballot harvesting,’” the Reno Gazette-Journal reported.
It doesn’t take a genius to see how that law will be abused, but Democrats don’t think it will be misused.
“We should be doing everything we can to allow people to vote and vote safely,” said state Senate leader Nicole Cannizzaro. “This bill is absolutely not an opportunity to create fraud in our elections, or to allow for ballot harvesting.”
Luckily, the Trump administration is looking to challenge this piece of legislation.
“In an illegal late night coup, Nevada’s clubhouse Governor made it impossible for Republicans to win the state,” Trump wrote on Twitter.
“Post Office could never handle the Traffic of Mail-In Votes without preparation. Using Covid to steal the state. See you in Court!”
Mail-in elections have been plagued with problems as states have scrambled to change over.
In Paterson, New Jersey, one in five ballots were thrown out and four people were arrested.
In New Jersey’s local elections in May,one in ten votes wasn’t counted, according to NJ Spotlight.
“It’s a mess,” said New Jersey State Sen. Declan O’Scanlon.
If Democrats force states to switch over, it is likely that we will see problems like this on a national level.
The 2020 election will be one for the history books.
