The Democrats know that their whole agenda could be destroyed.
They’ve pinned all their hopes on winning two Georgia elections.
Chuck Schumer was devastated when he learned about this Senate race poll.
Control of the Senate hangs on two runoff elections in January.
Georgia Democrats are going door-to-door canvassing and a record number of ballots have been requested.
It’s so important to Democrats that Joe Biden is even expected to come out of his basement and help campaign for Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock, the Democrat Senate candidates.
If Democrats win the Senate, they think that they will be able to pass their radical agenda without opposition which is why they are pouring in money and effort to win these races.
However, that’s not what American voters want.
A new poll shows that the majority of voters want the Republicans to control the Senate.
“As of now, the voters want divided government and their votes for the Senate and House indicate that as well,” said Mark Penn, Harvard CAPS-Harris polling director, after the poll’s release. “This is a strong headwind for Democrats in the special election though [President] Trump’s continued failure to concede could muddy the waters here.”
The poll found that only 44% of voters want Democrats to control the Senate while 56% would prefer that Republicans control the Senate.
Republican incumbent Sen. David Perdue got 80,000 more votes than Democrat Jon Ossoff even though he failed to hit the 50% vote share threshold required by Georgia law, resulting in a runoff election. In any other state Perdue would have already won.
In the other Georgia election, Warnock only got 32% of the votes. However, two Republicans on the ticket split the Republican vote resulting in another runoff election.
Republicans have a 50 to 48 edge in the chamber after Election Day.
Donald Trump Jr. issued a warning saying how important it is for Republicans to keep the Senate.
Trump Jr. wrote on Twitter, “I’m seeing a lot of talk from people that are supposed to be on our side telling GOP voters not to go out & vote for @KLoeffler and @PerdueSenate. That is NONSENSE. IGNORE those people. We need ALL of our people coming out to vote for Kelly and David.”
Vice President Mike Pence also hit the campaign trail for Loeffler and Perdue.
He said at a “Defend the Majority” rally that Perdue has “been one of the greatest and staunchest allies of our MAGA agenda in the United States Senate,” and said Loeffler had broken “barriers in business and sports … to become one of Georgia’s most successful businesswomen.”
Pence continued, “For all we’ve done together, for all we have yet to do, we need the great state of Georgia to defend the majority, and the road to a Senate Republican majority goes straight through the state of Georgia. … The Republican Senate majority could be the last line of defense for all that we’ve done to defend this nation, revive our economy, and preserve the God-given liberties that we hold dear.”
