New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez once again found herself smack dab in the middle of a national controversy.

As usual, Ocasio-Cortez escalated this dustup with another congressman.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez stormed on the House floor and then all hell broke loose.

Florida Republican Congressman Ted Yoho confronted Ocasio-Cortez about her outrageous comments that the spike in crime was caused by hungry people looking for bread to feed their families.

Yoho told Ocasio-Cortez she was “out of her mind” and “disgusting” for making excuses for murder and mayhem.

One fake news reporter claimed Yoho called Ocasio-Cortez a profane slur.

Yoho apologized on the House floor for being abrupt with Ocasio-Cortez, but said he is married with two daughters and was aware of coarse language about women and denied ever swearing at Ocasio-Cortez.

“Having been married for 45 years with two daughters, I’m very cognizant of my language,” Yoho explained. “The offensive name-calling words attributed to me by the press were never spoken to my colleagues and if they were construed that way, I apologize for their misunderstanding.”

Ocasio-Cortez became enraged.

In a fiery floor speech, Ocasio-Cortez hysterically ranted that she – and not the Republican Congressman the fake news media lied about – was the real victim.

“I will not stay up late at night waiting for an apology from a man who has no remorse over calling women and using abusive language towards women,” Ocasio-Cortez raged. “But what I do have issue with is using women — wives and daughters — as shields and excuses for poor behavior.”

“Mr. Yoho was not alone. He was walking shoulder to shoulder with Representative Roger Williams,” Ocasio-Cortez added. “And that’s when we start to see that this issue is not about one incident. It is cultural. It is a culture of a lack of impunity, of acceptance of violence and violent language against women, an entire structure of power that supports that.”

In 2012, the Obama campaign successfully tagged Mitt Romney as waging a “war on women” because Romney said in a debate that he tried to hire a lot of women when he was Governor of Massachusetts.

Romney meekly accepted Obama’s charges and never fought back.

The treatment of Romney and Romney’s pathetic response explain why Republican voters turned to a fighter like Donald Trump four years later.

Democrats hope to run this playbook again in 2020.

Ocasio-Cortez’s over the top floor speech was part of a Democrat plan to try and drive up their margins with female voters.

Democrats aren’t just looking at winning the White House.

They want to seize a majority in the Senate and grow their margins in the House.
