Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s social media use rocketed her to political superstardom.

But it’s also made Ocasio-Cortez one of the most controversial and unpopular members of Congress.

And now Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez just made the most humiliating mistake of her life.

Like most young leftists, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is a major supporter of cancel culture and erasing history.

Ocasio-Cortez and other members of the mob believe that unless someone lives up to the ever-evolving moral standards of the woke left, that person should be “canceled” and wiped away from history.

The latest target of Ocasio-Cortez’s wrath was the practice of each state designating statues of two historical figures to honor in the Capitol.

Ocasio-Cortez zeroed in on Hawaii’s decision to place a statue of Catholic SaintDamien of Molokai who died as a martyr to the faith, who she deemed a “colonizer.”

“Even when we select figures to tell the stories of colonized places, it is the colonizers and settlers whose stories are told – and virtually no one else,” Ocasio-Cortez posted on her social media. “Check out Hawaii’s statue. It’s not Queen Lili’uokalani of Hawaii, the only Queen Regnant of Hawaii, who is immortalized and whose story is told. It is Father Damien.”

Ocasio-Cortez hysterically continued smearing St. Damien, calling the decision by Hawaii – which is the least white state in America –to honor him with a statue an example of “white supremacy.”

“This isn’t to litigate each and every individual statue, but to point out the patterns that have emerged among the totality of them in who we are taught to deify in our nation’s Capitol: virtually all men, all white, and mostly both,” Ocasio-Cortez ranted, “This is what patriarchy and white supremacist culture looks like!”

“It’s not radical or crazy to understand the influence white supremacist culture has historically had in our overall culture and how it impacts the present day,” Ocasio-Cortez fumed.

For many Americans, attacking a Catholic saint who took care of lepers in Hawaii only to contract the disease and eventually die from it as an example of white supremacy was the latest data point that proves cancel culture is run amok on the left.

The Washington Examiner’s Tim Carney tweeted, “Get this: The priest AOC attacked as a colonizer, Fr. Damien, was–for his sacrificial work on behalf of the unfortunate Hawaiian natives–bestowed with the highest honors by the very Queen AOC said was dishonored by Fr. Damien’s statue.”

Socialists like Ocasio-Cortez are treating 2020 like the communist Khmer Rouge did when it took over Cambodia and declared the calendar began with that year and everything that came before was wiped away.

Ocasio-Cortez and her comrades believe that if you can control a nation’s past, you can control its future.

But Ocasio-Cortez went too far in claiming a Catholic saint that died helping disadvantaged native Hawaiians was an example of white supremacy, showing just how high the stakes for this election are.

Many Americans worry that if Joe Biden wins this election, cancel culture will only become emboldened.
