Barack Obama

A top Democrat legal scholar couldn’t believe his ears when he heard what Obama was saying.

He had to set the record straight no matter what the cost.

A key member of the Democrats’ impeachment just turned on Barack Obama.

Barack Obama can’t claim ignorance when it comes to legal matters.

He went to Harvard Law School, taught constitutional law at the University of Chicago Law School for twelve years and practiced law.

The fact that Obama got the facts about the Michael Flynn case wrong is not due to lack of knowledge.

“The news over the last 24 hours I think has been somewhat downplayed — about the Justice Department dropping charges against Michael Flynn,” Obama said.

“And the fact that there is no precedent that anybody can find for somebody who has been charged with perjury just getting off scot-free. That’s the kind of stuff where you begin to get worried that basic, not just institutional norms, but our basic understanding of rule of law is at risk. And when you start moving in those directions, it can accelerate pretty quickly as we’ve seen in other places,” he continued.

Constitutional scholar Jonathan Turley calls himself a liberal and testified against Trump when Nancy Pelosi impeached Trump without any evidence of a crime.

But this statement of Obama’s went too far even for him and he took to Twitter to set the record straight.

“’There is no precedent that anybody can find for someone who has been charged with perjury just getting off scot-free’ was a ‘curious statement’ for several reasons,” Turley wrote.

“First, ‘Flynn was not charged with perjury.’ Second, ‘We now know Obama discussed charging Flynn under the Logan Act which has never been used successfully to convict anyone and is flagrantly unconstitutional,'” he continued.

“Finally, there is precedent,” Turley wrote. “There is a specific rule allowing for this motion under Federal Rule of Criminal Procedure 48(a). There are specific Supreme Court cases like Rinaldi v. United States addressing the standard for such dismissals. The Justice Department has dismissed cases in the past including the Stevens case. That was requested by President Obama’s own Attorney General Eric Holder for the same reason: misconduct by prosecutors. It was done before the same judge, Judge Sullivan.”

“How is that for precedent?” Turley asked.

Anyone with any amount of legal knowledge would know that the case against Flynn wasn’t going anywhere.

The FBI’s notes against Flynn were damning for the case and the prosecutor quit.

Obama knows the law and knows that the FBI set Flynn up, and yet he still wants Flynn to go to jail.

That kind of hatred for members of Trump’s team is highly disturbing.

Obama may be panicked because one of the documents that Adam Schiff released revealed that Obama kept then-FBI Director James Comey after a meeting in the Oval Office because he wanted to talk about how to deal with Flynn, given the information from the call the FBI wiretapped.

Obama’s desperately lying to try and shift the blame away from himself.
