Chuck Schumer had staked his political future on defeating Donald Trump.

Schumer determined that this one fight was the key to making Trump a one-term President.

But now Schumer is in a panic because the U.S. military dealt him this career-changing defeat.

Donald Trump’s promise to build a wall along the Southern border was the signature issue of his campaign.

Many pundits believe it was the silver bullet that powered his shocking rise to power.

However, as President, Trump found that the Democrats would obstruct his every effort to build the wall as part of their plan to destroy his Presidency and render him unelectable in 2020.

When Democrats shut down the government rather than provide President Trump the votes to fund $5.7 billion dollars in border wall construction, everyone figured his chance to fulfill his central campaign promise had passed.

But then the President pulled a rabbit out of his hat announcing he would reprogram Pentagon funds and declare a national emergency to unlock up to three billion dollars more in military construction funds to build the wall.

Some pundits thought President Trump was bluffing and would not follow through on diverting some of the Pentagon funds towards wall construction.

That also turned out to be nothing more than wishful thinking.

The Pentagon announced the first round of reprogramming with $1.5 billion being made available for Trump’s border wall.

“The Department carefully selected sources for the reprogramming that are excess or early to need and will not adversely affect military preparedness,” the Pentagon declared.

“The funds were drawn from a variety of sources, including cost savings, programmatic changes and revised requirements.”

Funds came from ballistic missile programs, AWACS radar warning system, and overseas contingency funds.

The last pot of money – money spent on endless Middle East wars – was a sore spot for President Trump on the campaign trail and in office.

As a candidate and now President, Donald Trump has railed against the globalists who spend trillions rebuilding far-off Middle East countries while neglecting America’s border.

When President Trump announced his budget blueprint in 2018, he tweeted that, “This will be a big week for Infrastructure. After so stupidly spending $7 trillion in the Middle East, it is now time to start investing in OUR Country!”

This budget request eventually set in motion the confrontation that led to the President declaring a national emergency at the Southern border.

Schumer tweeted that the Democrats want to go back to the Obama policies of throwing money at Central American countries instead of securing America’s Southern border.

“While the actions of President  @realDonaldTrump ’s administration exacerbate issues at the southern border, Senate Democrats are committed to addressing the root causes that force families to flee Central America in the first place,” Schumer wrote.

But events on the ground have rendered Schumer’s opposition ridiculous and Trump’s wall necessary.

In each of the last two months, Customs and Border Patrol have apprehended over 100,000 illegal aliens at the Southern border.

We will keep you up to date on President Trump’s effort to use the U.S. military to build the border wall.
