Chuck SchumerDonald Trump had a major trick up his sleeve.

Every Democrat was crushed by what the President announced.

And the U.S. military just handed Chuck Schumer this massive defeat that left him in tears.

Secretary of Defense Mark Esper informed congressional leaders this week that the Defense Department would tap into $3.6 billion dollars worth of military construction funds to build a border wall.

President Trump gained access to the funds after declaring a national emergency last February and then winning a major legal battle after the Supreme Court lifted an injunction blocking use of the funds for the wall.

Officials estimate that this money will help build 175 miles of much needed border wall.

Chuck Schumer ranted and raved about the Pentagon’s announcement.

“Today Defense Secretary Mark Esper notified me that the Department of Defense will reprogram $3.6 billion in funds appropriated for military construction projects, including at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, in order to build @realDonaldTrump ‘s misguided border wall.” Schumer added, “It is a slap in the face to the members of the Armed Forces who serve our country that @realDonaldTrump is willing to cannibalize already allocated military funding to boost his own ego, and for a wall he promised Mexico would pay to build.”

During a press event at the White House, President Trump defended the decision, noting that Secretary of Defense Esper decided which of the 127 military construction projects would see their funding go towards the border wall.

“I didn’t tell [them] anything,” he said of the move. “The secretary of Defense spoke with members of Congress and explained it to them and I think he felt very good about it.”

The fake news media pressed the President on moving money from military construction at a time when Hurricane Dorian was bearing down on the United States.

But the President responded that the storm’s track shifted and the administration was more than confident it possessed the resources necessary to both build the wall and manage Dorian’s fallout.

“Oh yeah,” the President added. “We are using much less here than we anticipated. We thought this was going to be a direct — originally this was going to be a direct hit into Miami and we would have been satisfied anyway. No, we need help on the border.”

The President also predicted to reporters that his administration would complete 500 miles of border wall by the 2020 election.

This is the one fact that most enraged Chuck Schumer about the President using his authority under the 1976 National Emergency Act to tap military construction money to build a border wall.

Democrats were counting on tying Trump’s hands on border wall funding through congressional obstruction and legal challenges.

That plan blew up in the Democrats’ faces.

Now the President will campaign for re-election on the strength of fulfilling his promise to build hundreds of miles of border wall to defend America from an illegal alien invasion.
