When James Comey served as FBI Director, he acted as one of the ringleaders of Barack Obama’s Deep State.

Now Comey openly campaigns for President Trump’s defeat as revenge for being fired.

Trey Gowdy had finally heard enough of it and demolished Comey with just four words.

Retiring South Carolina Congressman Trey Gowdy appeared on Martha MacCallum’s Fox News program to discuss several developments related to Comey.

The former FBI Director recently testified behind closed doors to the House Judiciary Committee.

Comey’s testimony was so incomplete – he said “I don’t recall” hundreds of times – that the Republicans demanded he appear for a second time.

The former FBI Director also made waves by publicly stating it was a national imperative that Americans remove Trump from office.

Gowdy ripped Comey for his testimony.

“Comey is one of the best I have ever seen at always being right in his mind, and it doesn’t matter if he is a universe of one. When you write a book about ethics and morality, that in and of itself is a fairly high opinion of yourself thing to do,” Gowdy declared.

Comey’s moral preening – he presents himself as the last honest lawman in a sea of Washington corruption – infuriated many Americans.

The simple fact is that it was Comey who helped mislead a FISA judge to sign off on a warrant to spy on the Trump campaign.

And it was Comey who used the fake news Russia dossier—paid for by Hillary Clinton—as the pretext to investigate Carter Page, Paul Manafort and Michael Cohen.

Gowdy then laid into the former FBI Director calling him an “amnesiac with incredible hubris.”

“Comey just thinks he’s always right, and if [DOJ inspector general Michael] Horowitz thinks he’s wrong … it doesn’t matter if everyone else concludes he did wrong,” the South Carolina Congressman added. “He knows better. So, that’s what it’s like to interview an amnesiac with incredible hubris.”

MacCallum pressed Gowdy on whether he thought Comey acted in a partisan manner as FBI Director.

Gowdy – who had previously defended Comey – ripped the former FBI Director for showing his true colors now that he is no longer serving in the government.

“I think Jim Comey was primarily motivated by a desire to protect the brand of Jim Comey. I defended him a lot in 2016, even when it was lonely to do so. I would still defend him today if I thought he was making the right decisions, but he has been so overtly partisan since he left, not just [with] the president, but he wants people to vote Democrat, he wants a Democrat House. He’s just become a political flunky. It’s the same guy, in this very room that you and I are in right now, who said the FBI doesn’t give a hoot about politics,” Gowdy concluded.

Yet, it was Comey who just recently said, “All of us should use every breath we have to make sure the lies stop on January 20, 2021.”

Few Americans believe this partisan hatred of Trump did not affect Comey’s decision-making during the 2016 election and beyond.
