Democrats have a massive scandal on their hands.

One of their top Senators was caught colluding with a foreign spy months before the midterm elections.

And this bombshell story could end her career for good.

California Democrat Dianne Feinstein is the ranking member on the Senate Judiciary Committee and also sits on the Senate Intelligence Committee.

This has allowed her to play a leading role in the Russia witch hunt.

But now her career hangs in the balance after Politico broke the story that her driver for 20 years was allegedly a Chinese spy.

Politico reports:

“Former intelligence officials told me that Chinese intelligence once recruited a staff member at a California office of U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein, and the source reported back to China about local politics. (A spokesperson for Feinstein said the office doesn’t comment on personnel matters or investigations, but noted that no Feinstein staffer in California has ever had a security clearance.) At the Aspen Security Forum last week, FBI director Chris Wray acknowledged the threat Chinese spying in particular poses, saying, “China from a counterintelligence perspective represents the broadest, most pervasive, most threatening challenge we face as a country.”

Feinstein was the chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee when the FBI informed her she had a Chinese spy working closely at her side.

Jeff Harp, who ran counter-espionage for the FBI in the San Francisco field office, told KPXI 5 CBS that he was not surprised the Chinese would target Feinstein: “One, she had access to the Chinese community here in San Francisco; great amount of political influence. Two, correct me if I’m wrong, Dianne Feinstein still has very close ties to the intelligence committees there in Washington, D.C.”

Even more appalling is that when Feinstein was informed of this infiltration, she quietly pushed the driver into retirement instead of handing him over to the authorities.

President Trump blasted Feinstein for this outrageous misconduct at a rally in Ohio and over social media.

Feinstein, realizing the destruction the story could do, raced into damage control.

The California Democrat tweeted:

(1/2) The FBI told me 5 years ago it had concerns that China was seeking to recruit an administrative member of my Calif staff (despite no access to sensitive information). I took those concerns seriously, learned the facts and made sure the employee left my office immediately.

Compare that to your actions: attacking the FBI and refusing the advice of your national security team. SAD! I appreciated then and now the diligent work of our law enforcement and intelligence agencies and acted in the best interests of the country. Give it a try!

This scandal could prove to be Feinstein’s political undoing.

Because of California’s awful “jungle primary” law, Feinstein is facing a challenge in the general election from Kevin de Leon – the President Pro Tempore of the California State Senate.

De Leon won the official state party endorsement by running as an unabashed leftist who is hoping to leverage his Latino heritage and far-left policy positions into a successful attempt to oust Feinstein.

If this scandal taints Feinstein, it could doom her career.

Ideological leftists are going to flock to de Leon’s campaign.

And some Republican voters in California – who have no candidate in the race and see no difference between the two radical leftists – could decide to punish one of President Trump’s highest profile critics simply for her hypocrisy.

We will keep you up to date on any new developments in the 2018 midterm elections.
