It was Dr. Anthony Fauci’s turn in the hot seat.

That ended up being bad news for the Democrats.

And that’s because this senator shut down Dr. Fauci with a jaw-dropping reality check.

Dr. Fauci was among the Trump administration health experts that testified before the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions.

During the testimony, Dr. Fauci again pushed his discredited doom and gloom theories about the coronavirus pandemic.

The stock market even tanked 457 points after Dr. Fauci pressed for extended lockdowns and closing schools for the entire 2020-2021 academic year because a vaccine likely would not be available.

Kentucky Senator Rand Paul heard enough.

When it was Senator Paul’s time for questioning, Paul ripped Fauci for relying on junk science models that forecasted two million deaths from the coronavirus to shut the economy down.

“There have been more people wrong with modeling than right,” Paul said to Fauci. “We’re opening up a lot of economies around the–around the U.S. And I hope that people who are predicting doom and gloom and saying, oh, we can’t do this, there’s going to be a surge, will admit that they were wrong if there isn’t a surge, because I think that’s what’s going to happen.”

Senator Paul added that Dr. Fauci’s support of endless lockdowns never took into account the economic devastation these shutdowns inflicted on America and questioned who put Dr. Fauci in charge of deciding if businesses can open up.

“I think we ought to have a little bit of humility in our belief that we know what is best for the economy and as much as I respect you, Doctor Fauci, I don’t think you are the end-all,” Senator Paul continued. “I don’t think you are the one person that gets to make a decision.”

The Kentucky Republican torched the idea that all the “experts” marched in lockstep with Dr. Fauci’s pro-lockdown fanaticism and warned of the danger to children’s education and social development if schools remained closed for the 2020-2021 academic year.

“We can listen to your advice but there are people on the other side saying there’s not going to be a surge and that we can safely open the economy and the facts will bear this out but if we keep kids out of school for another year what’s going to happen is the poor and underprivileged kids who don’t have a parent that’s able to teach them at home are not going to learn for a full year and I think we ought to look at the Swedish model and we ought to look at letting our kids get back to school.

“I think it’s a huge mistake if we don’t open the schools in the fall,” Senator Paul concluded.

The consequences of Dr. Fauci’s shutdowns are staggering.

33 million Americans lost their jobs as unemployment expects to hit 25 percent next month.

The economy could contract by as much as negative 40 percent in the second quarter.

And millions of Americans cheered Senator Paul for finally calling out Dr. Fauci for his failed predictions and models that led to the greatest economic catastrophe in American history.
