Screen Shot 2015-06-22 at 11.07.55 AMThere’s a lot to be said about the shooting that took place on June 17th at the Emanuel AME Zion Church.

First it would go without saying we can all agree, regardless of political affiliation, this shooting is an absolute tragedy.

Secondly Dylann Roof’s actions paint a picture of the American landscape that shows when things go wrong our news media is quick to pick up on the grief and the sadness…but doesn’t really ever want to talk about the underlying issues.

Sure, the anti-gun media is going to say guns were part of the problem, but it’s what they don’t talk about that’s really concerning.

First off Dylann Roof was able to get his gun legally and he still committed the crime. This shows just how useless the national background check system really is at preventing mass shootings.

If anything all they do is provide a longer more drawn out process for plenty of people as they attempt to get a weapon for self defense.

As writes:

The background check system simply does not prevent mass killings. More than a dozen mass killers bought their firearms legally since federal background checks were implemented. The rest simply went around the failed system, either murdering to get their guns as the child killer did at Sandy Hook, or through illegal straw purchases as they did at Columbine, or through theft, as they did in Jonesboro.

So that’s strike number one for Obama and his cronies.

The other thing they have working against them?

Roof selected the church because it was a gun-free zone.

Contrary to the belief a gun-free zone will keep you safer.

Naturally placing a sign around a church and calling it a gun-free zone does nothing to keep guns out. What it does do though is it lets villains like Roof enter without opposition.

One of Roof’s friends told authorities he chose the church because he’d be able to commit the crime without running into resistance.

Fox News wrote:

Last week, while drinking in the back of Scriven’s house, R___* blurted out his plans to carry out a mass shooting at the College of Charleston.

“I don’t think the church was his primary target because he told us he was going for the school,” Scriven said Friday. “But I think he couldn’t get into the school because of the security…so I think he just settled for the church.”

Naturally this point is going to be downplayed by the liberals and Obama.

Obama will continue his circular argument about an increase in background checks and the use of common sense gun laws is what will keep Americans safer…when we all know that’s simply not true.

Perhaps the most ironic twist in all of this is that one of Roof’s victims was a state senator who voted on a complete ban of guns in churches.

Reverend Clementa Pinckne who ended up being shot to death by Roof had voted to keep churches gun-free zones.

Sad the one thing capable of protecting the 9 victims was also the one thing that Pinckne and Obama thought shouldn’t be allowed in churches or any other place where normal Americans go.
