Bill ClintonIn a newly released recording, Bill Clinton said that there was a point in time when he could have killed the notorious terrorist leader Osama bin Laden, but decided not to because innocent civilians might have been injured or killed.

In an audio recording delivered to Australian businessmen, he said he had carefully considered his decision to let bin Laden go.

In Clinton’s own words:

I’m just saying, you know, if I were Osama bin Laden – he’s a very smart guy, I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about him, and I nearly got him once.

I nearly got him. And I could have killed him, but I would have to destroy a little town called Kandahar in Afghanistan and kill 300 innocent women and children, and then I would have been no better than him.

And so I didn’t do it.

The strange part: This recording was made Sep. 10th, 2001, the day before the 9/11 attacks.

Do you think Clinton was telling the truth when he said this?
