Robert Mueller thought he had Donald Trump dead to rights.

The special counsel zeroed in on a key Trump associate in order to prove the campaign colluded with the Russians.

But Robert Mueller just got the bad news that told him everything he worked for was over.

Robert Mueller Zeroes In On Trump Associate Roger Stone

Robert Mueller and his team focused on proving Trump associate Roger Stone knew about WikiLeaks releasing the Democrats hacked emails in advance.

Mueller worked to connect the dots and frame Trump for collusion.

Critics believe he intended to say that since Trump and Stone knew each other for 40 years, that proved Stone must have told Trump about what he knew of the WikiLeaks email dumps.

Mueller would use that as proof of collusion.

Mueller’s evidence against Stone was an August 2016 comment where Stone claimed to have communicated with WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.

“I actually have communicated with Assange. I believe the next tranche of his documents pertain to the Clinton Foundation but there’s no telling what the October surprise may be,” Stone stated.

That comment led many so-called “journalists” to claim Stone was in league with the Russians.

But that turned out to be fake news.

This Smoking Gun Gives Robert Mueller Bad News

It turns out Stone’s source was an email sent by Clinton Foundation expert Charles Ortel to Fox News journalist James Rosen.

Ortel emailed Rosen on July 25th and blind carbon copied Stone on the email.

In the email, Ortel wrote, “Am told WikiLeaks will be doing a massive dump of HRC emails relating to the CF in September.”

The Daily Caller exclusively reports:

Ortel confirmed the authenticity of the email exchanges to TheDC while Rosen declined to comment.

Stone explained to TheDC the information he learned from the email was part of the basis for his August 2016 claim of impending information from WikiLeaks about the Clinton Foundation.

Stone has also sought to distance himself from scrutiny over a tweet he sent saying “trust me, it will soon the Podesta’s time in the barrel. #CrookedHillary.” The tweet is seen by critics as possible foreknowledge of WikiLeaks later release of Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta’s hacked emails.

It’s becoming clear that Stone engaged in the showmanship that defined his political career when he claimed a connection to Assange.

Stone knew about the WikiLeaks email dumps through blind luck.

Not because he was at the center of an international espionage ring to rig the Presidential election.

This should put the collusion hoax to rest.

Mueller and many on the left believed Stone was the key to proving Trump colluded with the Russians.

They used his public statements as evidence Stone worked with WikiLeaks on releasing hacked emails obtained from the Democrats.

Stone always denied colluding with the Russians.

It turns out he was telling the truth.
