Nancy PelosiNancy Pelosi is treading on thin ice.

Her days of ruling over the Democratic Party in Congress may be about to come to an end.

And it’s all because of one move Pelosi made which could leave her ruined forever.

Ever since President Trump first took office in January 2017, Democrats have been obsessed with removing him from office and even throwing him in prison.

It’s a pipe dream that nearly every major Democrat running for President and serving in Congress wants to see happen.

The prospect of dealing the fatal blow to President Trump’s political career is so alluring that some will do anything to see it happen.

And the easiest way to do that would be to impeach Trump and remove him from office.

But for those pushing the impeachment mantra, there’s just one massive problem.

Nancy Pelosi remains opposed to it.

And as long as Pelosi objects to impeachment, Democrats don’t have any path forward to remove the President from office.

Now Democrats are fighting with one another over what to do next.

At the same time, radical new Democrats in Congress led by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez are demanding Trump’s immediate impeachment.

And they aren’t happy that Pelosi continues to block all efforts to remove Trump from the White House.

But Speaker Nancy Pelosi has a reason to be opposed to impeachment.

She’s worried that pushing for impeachment will only help Trump in the long run, making him a victim in a political witch hunt that could spark a massive backlash against Democrats at the polls in 2020.

Time Magazine has the story, “House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has managed to hold together a Democratic caucus fractured on the issue of impeachment for months — but it’s about to get significantly more challenging.”

“Over August recess, the number of members who came out in support of some form of action on impeachment reached 137, according to a count from Politico — a number that represents more than 50% of the caucus.”

It’s obvious that Pelosi is taking a step that will almost certainly cause a rift with the more radical members in her own party, including Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

But it’s equally obvious that she’s still trying to play both sides in the battle over whether or not to impeach, and she’s about to run out of time to keep standing on the sidelines.

Pelosi’s supporters are worried however that if Ocasio-Cortez gets her way, Trump will only emerge as the victor in the long run.

“There are several factors, however, indicating that no major action is imminent. Neither Pelosi nor her top deputies, Majority Leader Steny Hoyer and Majority Whip Jim Clyburn, are publicly on board with launching proceedings right now,” adds Time Magazine.

Without the backing of the upper echelons of the Democratic Party in Congress, there’s little chance that Democrats will be able to push for impeachment.

But the heat remains on Pelosi for her to finally cave to her party’s own demands.
