No one thought Mitt Romney could commit a bigger act of betrayal than voting to convict Donald Trump on the Democrats’ sham and partisan articles of impeachment.

But what Mitt Romney just did crossed a line and left jaws on the ground.

And Mitt Romney let Donald Trump down with one attack on the military.

Four Trump administration health experts testified before the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions, on which Romney sits.

Each senator got five minutes to question the administration officials and Romney used his time to launch into a tirade smearing the character of a decorated admiral.

Romney blasted Admiral Brett Giroir, Assistant Secretary for Health at the Department of Health and Human Services and who is in charge of coordinating testing for the coronavirus task force – because at a recent press briefing, Admiral Giroir destroyed the fake news narrative that the administration is somehow failing at testing.

“If you look at per capita, everyone talks about South Korea being the standard today,” Admiral Giroir explained to the press and the American people. “We will have done more than twice their per capita rate of testing that was accomplished in South Korea.”

Romney outrageously accused an admiral standing in uniform before the American people of lying.

“I understand that politicians are going to frame data in a way that is most positive politically,” Romney ranted and raved. “Of course, I don’t expect that from admirals.”

Romney then ranted about the false equivalency comparing testing in South Korea to testing in America to start.

“But you ignored the fact that they accomplished theirs at the beginning of the outbreak, while we treaded water during February and March,” Romney added. “And, as a result, by March 6 the U.S. had completed just 2,000 tests, whereas South Korea had conducted more than 140,000 tests.”

American testing was not set up to handle a pandemic.

The testing was done in small numbers at public health labs and the Trump administration needed to start up commercial labs as well as mobilize the supply chain to produce the swabs and reagents necessary to run the tests.

In 45 days, America went from a few hundred tests a day to over 300,000 with that capability increasing every day.

“I find our testing record nothing to celebrate whatsoever,” Romney outrageously stated.

Romney also lauded South Korea for how they responded to the crisis and that is why their numbers are going down and they need to run fewer tests.

“The fact is their test numbers are going down, down, down now, because they don’t have the kind of outbreak we have,” Romney added. “Ours are going up, up, up as they have to. I think that’s an important lesson for us as we think about the future.”

But Romney misled the public with this statement.

South Korea stamped out the virus with lockdown measures that would be unconstitutional in America.

In South Korea, citizens put an app on their phones that tracked their movements and alerted the government if they came into contact with someone infected with coronavirus.

A government goon squad would then show up and test and quarantine them.

Mitt Romney is a bitter has-been that is still jealous he lost the 2012 election and Donald Trump won.

Now Romney is taking his quest for revenge to a disturbing new level by smearing an admiral helping America successfully manage the coronavirus outbreak.
