Anti-Trump RINO Jeff Flake already threw one monkey wrench into the Senate confirming Brett Kavanaugh.
He claimed he wanted to vote “yes,” but that he needed the FBI investigation to remove all doubt.
Now he sent signals he is going to switch his vote and it’s bad news for Trump.
Jeff Flakes Wavers Again
Jeff Flake continued his media tour.
He appeared at The Atlantic Festival on Tuesday.
Flake was joined by Delaware Democrat Chris Coons.
Coons helped convince Flake to betray the Republican Party and give the Democrats more time to sink Kavanaugh’s nomination.
Flake and Coons were interviewed by Constitution Center President Jeffrey Rosen.
During the course of their talk, Flake found a new ground to oppose Kavanaugh’s nomination.
Flake claimed Kavanaugh was too “partisan” during the hearing.
Journalists have used this same Democrat Party talking point in the days since the hearing.
They claim Kavanaugh fighting back against the Democrats attempts to smear him as a gang rapist disqualify him from the Supreme Court.
“We can’t have that on the Court,” Flake said.
A reporter for The Atlantic asked Flake if that meant he would vote against confirming Kavanaugh.
I caught up with Flake briefly as he left the event, and asked if this meant he would not vote to confirm Kavanaugh, even if the FBI cleared him by week’s end. He appeared rattled, and his handlers rushed him into the stairwell. “I didn’t say that …” he stammered. “I wasn’t referring to him.”
He previously told The Atlantic that he would vote “yes” on Kavanaugh after the FBI wrapped up their one-week investigation.
“Yes. I’m a conservative. He’s a conservative. I plan to support him unless they turn up something—and they might,” he had said.
Conservatives Doubt Flake
Conservatives have no reason to trust Flake.
He is a RINO who hates Donald Trump.
Flake proved he is a weak politician with no convictions or backbone.
He allowed the liberal media and unhinged George Soros protesters to bully him into accepting the Democrats argument that they needed more time to destroy Kavanaugh’s reputation.
Many conservatives think Flake is sucking up to the left because he wants to score a big money contract working for CNN or MSNBC next year.
They can trot him on the air as the “reasonable” Republican who agrees with the Democrats on everything and will criticize Donald Trump.
Flake proved his word is worth nothing.
Hours before he sided with the Democrats in forcing an FBI investigation, Flake put out a statement announcing he would vote to confirm Kavanaugh.
The charges against Kavanaugh are false.
His accusers have no credibility.
The FBI investigation will show this.
But will it be enough for Flake to vote “yes”?
He hinted at The Atlantic Festival that he is looking for a reason to vote no.
Then he executed one of the worst double crosses in political history.
