Thousands of migrants massing along the Southern border have raised the stakes in the upcoming fight to fund Donald Trump’s border wall.

Trump thought he was leading a united front of Republicans who understood that the border wall was central to preventing future migrant caravan invasions.

But Trump could not believe the identity of the person who committed this terrible act of betrayal.

Unfortunately for Donald Trump and his supporters, Republican leaders in Congress do not share his commitment to put pro-America immigration policies in place.

Trump headed into the December showdown demanding five billion dollars in funding for the border wall, as well as additional money for border security.

And it appeared that Trump would arrive at the negotiating table with the Democrats with a unified Republican caucus ready to back him up.

However, establishment Republicans are breaking ranks.

They are terrified of a partial government shutdown and are looking for a way to back out of the fight.

Democrats claim they will only support the $1.6 billion dollars they previously agreed to.

Congress banned this money from being used for new wall construction.

But it could go to repair existing fencing.

West Virginia Republican Shelley Moore Capito falsely claimed the money could go to a “wall system” because it helped secure the border through other means.

“It’s for a wall system. It is a lot of wall, but it is also a part of a system. And then we have additional add-ons in the bill that have more manpower and more technology,” she stated.

Maine RINO Susan Collins also claimed the money will not fund a new border wall, but that Trump could call it whatever he wanted.

“It depends on how you define border security. And part of it clearly is for the wall,” Collins stated. “Maybe we can reach an agreement where everyone can call it what they want.”

West Virginia Democrat Joe Manchin – who lies every election season about how he is a conservative – claimed there is no such thing as a “wall.”

“There’s no such thing as a wall. From a safety standpoint there’s … high fencing, so I don’t know. I think it’s just semantics right now, just get over it,” Manchin falsely claimed.

This is typical of Manchin.

When Manchin faced a tough re-election battle, he claimed he would support Trump’s border wall.

Now he is backing away.

This is not the first time Manchin lied to the voters of West Virginia.

He campaigned in 2010 and 2012 as a “pro-gun” conservative.

But once in office, he showed his true colors.

Manchin backed Barack Obama’s national gun registration scheme following the Sandy Hook tragedy.

But despite these betrayals in Congress, Trump is still fighting for a 30-foot-high concrete structure.

Tens of thousands of people across the country did not pack into Trump rallies and chant “repair the fence” just for fun.

Trump knows he was elected because the American people want secure borders, so he is holding firm on his demand of a 5 billion dollar down-payment on building the wall.

And despite the betrayals from Senate Republicans, Trump could still win funding for his wall.

This fight is far from over.
