Donald Trump’s political fate will be decided in a Senate impeachment trial.

The President thought he had rock solid support from Senate Republicans to end the Democrats’ witch hunt.

But Donald Trump learned of this big impeachment defeat that he won’t like one bit.

Before the Senate trial started, President Trump tweeted that the Senate should dismiss the articles of impeachment and not even waste time on a trial.

“Many believe that by the Senate giving credence to a trial,” Trump tweeted, “rather than an outright dismissal, it gives the partisan Democrat Witch Hunt credibility that it otherwise does not have. I agree!”

Some Republican Senators agreed with President Trump that the Democrats’ articles of impeachment failed the laugh test and were not serious legal arguments to remove the President from office.

But appearing on “Fox News Sunday,” South Carolina RINO Lindsey Graham told host Chris Wallace that there were not 51 Republican votes to dismiss the sham articles of impeachment.

“That’s dead for practical purposes,” Graham stated. “There are a lot of senators, who I think will wind up acquitting the president, that believe that we need to hear the House’s case, the president’s case and ask questions.”

“So the idea of dismissing the case early on is not going to happen. We don’t have the votes for that,” Graham finished up.

Later on in the interview Graham shredded the Democrats’ phony articles of impeachment as well as the process by which Nancy Pelosi steered this attempted coup through the House of Representatives.

“There is no allegation of crime against the president,” Graham continued. “When it comes to Donald Trump, [House Speaker] Nancy Pelosi may pray privately, but she’s orchestrated the trial of holy hell.”

“You took 48 days to impeach this president. You did not allow him to call any witnesses. He could not have a lawyer present during the House Intel Committee,” Graham added. “This has been a partisan railroad job.”

Many Trump supporters agree with the President that the charges are bogus and the process the House of Representatives employed to pass the articles of impeachment was rigged.

Just holding a Senate trial breathes legitimacy into a proceeding that was corrupt and partisan from the very start.

Holding a trial and then allowing witnesses will produce an unending kangaroo court.

Texas Senator Ted Cruz warned that the trial could drag on for an unreasonable amount of time if Democrats get their way.

“I think it’s certainly possible that this trial could last one to two weeks. On the other hand, if the Senate makes the decision to go down the road of additional witnesses, that could extend it to six to eight weeks or even longer,” Cruz explained in an interview on Fox News.

That is exactly what Democrats want.

Democrats will claim new witnesses mandate new investigations which they can use to pass new articles of impeachment.

The whole point of this exercise is to drag this fake scandal out until Election Day in hopes it hurts President Trump’s approval rating.
