Donald TrumpTo most of America, the idea of impeaching President Trump is laughable.

But there is still a massive movement waiting for the right moment to strike.

And Democrats think they finally found their smoking gun to impeach Trump.

For two years, Democrats were praying to the high heavens that Robert Mueller would give them what they needed to impeach President Trump.

They were hoping Mueller would march into the White House with arrest warrants for Trump and all of his campaign officials.

But in reality, Mueller found nothing pointing towards any collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.

There isn’t even a sniff of potential collusion, with Mueller providing exculpatory evidence completely vindicating the President.

So their biggest hope to impeach Trump was gone, but that isn’t stopping them.

They still have massive organizations working overtime to make impeachment a reality.

And they are gaining some wins that the mainstream media hasn’t been talking about.

While they are still behind when it comes to votes for the issue, they are beginning to bring in some major Democrats.

Rep. Ben Ray Lujan just threw his support behind the idea.

Lujan is a rather unknown Congressman, but he wields a lot of power.

He is the fourth highest-ranking House Democrat, and one of Pelosi’s closest allies.

Lujan is also largely seen as one of the instrumental figures in electing many of the freshmen Democrats currently serving in the House.

So he is perhaps the most valuable person in the House to jump onto this issue.

With Lujan, there are currently 127 Democrats supporting impeachment.

There are also 108 who are either opposed to the idea, or who don’t hold any strong position on the matter.

One of those 108 is Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, who is the closest thing the Democrats have to a leader currently.

If she jumps in and throws her support behind the measure, it will bring massive amounts of credence to the issue.

All they need is a smoking gun to get Pelosi, the rest of the Democrats, and even some of the weak-kneed Republicans on board.

There are many establishment Republicans just waiting on the sidelines for their excuse to pounce on Trump.

These are people who have been in Congress for decades and got used to the swampy way things operated before Trump shook things up.

And they think they have found that silver bullet to turn things around.

A recent report, which Trump denies, claims he ordered his underlings to violate the law if they need to in order to build his much anticipated wall on the border.

The report claims that Trump offered pardons to anybody who faces criminal charges.

So now the House Judiciary Committee is filing subpoenas for documents to try to prove their claim.

House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler makes it very clear this is politically motivated in his statement.

“The dangling of pardons by the President to encourage government officials to violate federal law would constitute another reported example of the President’s disregard for the rule of law. Such a troubling pattern of obstruction of justice would represent a continuation of the misconduct identified in the Mueller Report,” House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler said in a statement Wednesday.

It is clear they are hoping this can move their impeachment efforts into overdrive.

Because if they can’t force Trump out of office, they are going to have a ton of trouble defeating him come 2020.
