Chuck SchumerChuck Schumer is about to walk into a massive disaster.

He thinks he’s about to get a huge win from President Donald Trump.

But Schumer just made one demand of the President that he will soon regret.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer believes that he can dictate terms to President Donald Trump.

And in the wake of two mass shootings over the country, Schumer is eager to take a jab at the Second Amendment rights of millions of Americans.

But as Congress returns to Washington to debate a host of gun control legislation this month, Schumer may have just overplayed his hand.

And now, his chances of getting anything out of President Trump may have just collapsed overnight.

Fox News reports, “Congressional Democratic leaders warned President Trump on Sunday that any proposal on gun control must include a House-passed bill to expand background checks for gun purchases — or else risk no legislation at all.”

This is a dangerous game for Schumer to play.

He knows that President Trump doesn’t allow himself to be bossed around by Democrats.

And making demands of the President is a quick way to get Trump to abandon any policy proposals Democrats are pushing for.

Yet Schumer doesn’t seem to realize the disaster he’s helping to create for his own party.

“In a joint statement, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer said they spoke Sunday morning by phone with Trump, who planned to announce as soon as this week what measures he supported,” adds Fox News. “Pelosi, D-Calif., and Schumer, D-N.Y., said they made clear that any proposal lacking the House legislation ‘will not get the job done’ by leaving dangerous loopholes.”

The problem with Schumer is that he’s too fixated on making sure that he gets his way, rather than worrying about how his antics may influence the President’s decision.

And in doing so, he’s about to make one of the biggest political mistakes of a lifetime.

With Republicans, conservative, and Second Amendment activists across the country urging President Trump to stop any gun control measures that are being pushed through by Democrats in Congress, he’s now got even more reasons to refuse to work with Democrats thanks to Schumer’s demands.

“After a summer of devastating mass shootings, Congress has struggled to reach agreement on legislation to curb gun violence as Trump pledged to protect the Second Amendment and wavered on what kind of bill he wants the lawmakers to send for his signature,” concludes Fox News.

Schumer, however, remains adamant that the President cave into his demands, and he has shown no signs of wanting to negotiate or let the President control the narrative.

And in doing so, Trump now has more reasons than ever to kill any gun control legislation that may come out of Congress.
