Robert Mueller walked into court expecting to rack up another victory.

But his expectations were set too high.

That’s because all hell broke loose when a judge smacked Robert Mueller with this nasty surprise.

Robert Mueller and Paul Manafort met in the Eastern District Court of Virginia for Manafort’s sentencing on financial crimes unrelated to Russian collusion or the 2016 election.

Mueller’s team recommended 18 to 24 years in prison – meaning the 69 year-old Manafort would have died in prison – as vindictive punishment for Manafort not rolling over and telling the special counsel whatever he wanted to hear about Russian collusion.

But before handing down his sentence, Judge T.S. Ellis drove a dagger through the heart of the Mueller probe.

Judge Ellis announced to the world that Mueller had found no evidence of Russian collusion and that Manafort – whom the Steele dossier and New York Times accused of being in contact with Russian intelligence – was not on trial for anything related to a plot to rig the 2016 election.

“He is not before the court for anything having to do with colluding with the Russian government,” Ellis announced.

Judge Ellis delivered a body blow to the Mueller probe.

The second shot in the one-two punch came in the form of Manafort’s sentence.

Mueller demanded Judge Ellis sentence Manafort to die of old age in prison.

Instead, Judge Ellis sentenced Manafort to just under four years in prison.

Judge Ellis also included time served as part of his sentence.

Since Manafort has spent close to one year in prison, he could theoretically be free in three years.

Liberals – who rage that every time President Trump declares left-wing judges as lawless he pushes America one step closer to 1930s Germany – suddenly had no problem attacking the institution of the independent judiciary.

CNN legal analyst Elie Honig wrote, “A below-guidelines sentence would’ve been perfectly fair but 47 months is a joke. Steal millions from US Government, violate bail, get convicted by jury, fake cooperate, lie to prosecutors, refuse to accept responsibility – and get an enormous break. That’s an unjust sentence.”

Left-wing writer at The Atlantic, Franklin Foer, ranted, “This is outrageous. Manafort spent a career lobbying for arms for clients who burned children alive; he represented gangsters who broke democracies and whose thievery destroyed health systems. He literally created corruption as we know it in Washington.”

This entire episode exposed the fraud that the Mueller investigation is, as well as the left’s complaints that Trump “violated” norms.

The judge essentially told Mueller he wasted the court’s time.

Mueller’s mandate was to investigate Russian collusion.

Judge Ellis announced to the world that Mueller came up empty on that front.

When liberals realized that Judge Ellis was not just some Deep State stooge, they ranted and raved about him in terms that, had Donald Trump used those terms, these same pundits would’ve cited it as evidence that Trump was a rogue dictator who must be removed from office.
