Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has a long record of saying outrageous things.

From her comments about concentration camps to her endorsement of the Green New Deal, she’s no stranger to making a fool of herself in public.

But this time, Ocasio-Cortez left jaws on the floor thanks to one tweet.

Freshman Democratic Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez knows perhaps the least amount of history of any member in the United States Congress today.

Famous across the country for her political gaffes, lies, and misquotes, the Democratic Congresswoman has emerged as a symbolic example of the new generation of liberal political leaders who know nothing about the past and refuse to learn anything that doesn’t fit their narrative.

But her ignorance of history is starting to catch up with her at last.

And it couldn’t have come at a worse time.

In the wake of comparing the US government’s efforts to curtail illegal immigration into the country with Nazi Germany’s systematic extermination of Jewish people during World War II, Ocasio-Cortez is now under fire for making yet another careless remark.

This time, it’s about the infamous Argentinian politician Eva “Evita” Peron, wife of former Argentina President Juan Peron, who granted political asylum to Nazis fleeting Germany at the end of World War II.

Breitbart reports, “A revelation meant to embarrass President Donald Trump by revealing an alleged soft side for arguably his most popular political enemy has prompted a beloved leftist to favorably quoted a Nazi sympathizer, without caveat, in public.”

The entire ordeal is even more bizarre than it seems, however.

Ocasio-Cortez took to Twitter on Sunday after quoting a story about the President comparing herself to Evita.

The Democrat tweeted, “’I know that, like every woman of the people, I have more strength than I appear to have.’- Evita Perón”

She was almost immediately slammed for the quote.

“As public schools in the United States woefully lack in-depth studies of the history of the Americas, the hemisphere Americans inhabit, the image of Eva Perón in the American psyche is one most often associated with the lamentable musical Evita,” explains Breitbart.

“Ocasio-Cortez, however, is an on-the-record fan of the real Evita Perón, the one with the kind of anti-semitic baggage that the American left has struggled to toss aside all year.”

The real-life Evita was a ruthless cutthroat who helped to drive Argentina off a cliff, destroyed its economy, and left the country trapped in a cycle of political violence for decades.

And she and her husband directly benefited from bringing Nazis into the country after World War II ended.

“Evita Perón, evidence later indicated, directly benefitted from the treasure that the Nazis brought with them, much of it believed to be stolen from Europeans Jews slaughtered in concentration camps,” adds Breitbart. “Ocasio-Cortez – ally of anti-semitic Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), darling of anti-semitic newspaper the New York Times – now owns the anti-semitic legacy of Evita Perón. No one asked her for her opinion of Perón, savior of Nazi doctor Josef Mengele and S.S. leader Adolf Eichmann, but she chose to favorably compare herself to his wife.”

The truth of the matter is that Ocasio-Cortez is either ignorant of history, or she’s willing to sweep the true story of Evita under the rug in order to paint herself in a positive light.

Do you think Ocasio-Cortez should stop aligning herself with anti-Semites?
