Adam Schiff

Adam Schiff has not yet abandoned his goal to remove Donald Trump from office.

Schiff made that clear in a recent TV appearance.

But things quickly went south when Adam Schiff realized he was in big trouble when he was asked this one question.

Appearing on MSNBC’s “The Last Word” with host Lawrence O’Donnell, Schiff tried to dismiss claims made by the President and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell about impeachment distracting the nation from the coronavirus.

Even though this was a friendly, softball interview with a sympathetic left-wing host, Schiff could not coherently or honestly answer the question.

Instead, Schiff unleashed an avalanche of falsehoods.

“Yeah, the president said something similar, which, you know, was an interesting acknowledgment that the administration screwed up this response. The facts are quite clear that the president’s weeks-long, maybe months-long delay in taking this seriously has had catastrophic consequences that we are only now beginning to see the scope of,” Schiff began.

Schiff is peddling lies.

Even though back in January the World Health Organization repeated Chinese government lies about there being no evidence of human-to-human transmission, the President still banned travel from China and established the coronavirus task force.

But that was just the tip of the iceberg of Schiff spewing misinformation.

“They should stop making excuses. The president found plenty of time even during the impeachment trial and the period after to play golf, go on vacation at Mar-a-Lago, to do campaign rallies. He wasn’t distracted from doing the things he loves to do, but the bigger problem is after the trial was over, the president continued for weeks and weeks to say this is no problem. He’s got it under control. He’s got it contained, and this isn’t going to have a big impact on the country. Of course, he was ignoring the advice of the health experts, the epidemiologists, the CDC, his own people with catastrophic consequences,” Congressman Schiff concluded.

Donald Trump has not ignored his scientists.

If anything, some Trump supporters believe the President is too willing to accept everything Dr. Anthony Fauci and Dr. Deborah Birx tell him.

There is no doubt the coronavirus is a serious pandemic.

The virus is lethal and spreads easily.

But the last two weeks saw 10 million Americans join the unemployment line.

That level of economic collapse is not sustainable.

The shutdowns will need to end and Americans must get back to work if there is to be any hope of salvaging the economy.

However, unlike the outright lies Adam Schiff spoke on MSNBC, Donald Trump is listening to the experts.

The President believes the nation can tolerate short-term economic devastation to choke off the spread of the virus and to allow the economy to reopen so it can flourish without Americans feeling fearful of contracting a mysterious virus should they leave the house.
