The Mueller report is forcing the impeachment debate to a head.

Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats are drawing the battle lines with Donald Trump over the issue that could redefine American politics.

But both sides were left speechless when a judge delivered some extremely bad news about impeachment.

Fox News legal analyst Judge Andrew Napolitano’s commentary during the Mueller investigation consistently sounded an alarm bell for Donald Trump.

Judge Napolitano felt Mueller was building a case that could cause problems for the President.

But that all changed when Attorney General William Barr revealed the main findings of the two year-long Mueller investigation—no collusion and no determination on obstruction of justice.

That led Napolitano to conclude that the legal jeopardy for President Trump had passed and that if Democrats proceeded with impeachment, they were signing their own political death warrant.

“[W]hat the Democrats want to do, this may very well explode in their faces politically, Stuart, is second-guess Bill Barr and Bob Mueller,” Napolitano told Fox Business Network’s Stuart Varney.

“Now, Barr told us that there were 10 instances of alleged obstruction of justice. Whatever the bottom line is, they decided there’s not enough to prove the case. The Democrats are going to take those 10 instances and parade some lawyers out there, ex-prosecutors who’ll say there is enough to prove the case. Which is why I said this just turns the page. The serious legal jeopardy for the president is gone. The political jeopardy, he knows how to deal with.”

With that being said, Napolitano predicted the Democrats would continue down this politically disastrous path because their unhinged base demands it.

He added, “To the Democrats and the Trump haters, it’s fuel for them to continue digging more deeply into this. I think they’re making a mistake doing it, but I predict they’re going to do it because that’s what they think their base wants.”

Napolitano’s prediction came true.

Even though Nancy Pelosi and other top Democrats tried to throw cold water on any impeachment talk, their actions told another story.

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler subpoenaed former White House counsel Don McGahn to testify.

McGahn played a starring role in the Mueller report by sliming the President with testimony to paint Trump in a negative light.

Also, multiple House Committee chairs – led by controversial California Democrat Maxine Waters – subpoenaed financial records from banks that had done business with President Trump.

No matter what Pelosi and her media acolytes claim, this is the beginning of an impeachment proceeding.

But as Judge Napolitano pointed out, taking this path is political suicide for the Democrats.

20 Republican Senators will not vote to convict the President—even if Democrats in the House pass articles of impeachment.

All Democrats will do is drive skeptical Republicans – who may not love Trump – back into the Presidents column when they have to judge Trump’s record versus the Democrats extremism.
