Barack Obama is the last Democrat to have been elected president.

And he’s worried that his party is throwing away its chances of defeating Trump in 2020.

But Obama’s warnings to the Democratic Party are going ignored.

Former President Barack Obama was stunned perhaps more than anyone other than Hillary Clinton when Donald Trump became President in 2016.

Since leaving office a few months later, Obama has tried to remain relevant, keeping his name in the press and working to elect Democrats to obstruct and oppose President Trump’s every move.

But as the Democratic Party gears up for the 2020 nomination race, Obama is worried that the party is moving too far to the left, even for him.

Having campaigned as a devout liberal, Obama is hardly a moderate political figure.

But in today’s Democratic Party, he’s increasingly viewed as too conservative by the growing socialist wing of the party.

And Obama is worried that should that faction prevail in the 2020 nomination process, that President Trump will easily win re-election.

He’s not wrong either, the Democrats are on the verge of going too far to the left to defeat Trump.

“We can’t label everyone who is disturbed by immigration as racist,” former President Barack Obama told a youth group in Berlin on Saturday when discussing immigration in the United States and Europe.

Immigration has become a lightning rod issue.

And the Democrats’ open borders policies are so radical that not even their former president is prepared to openly accept them.

Worse yet, the Democrats have moved so far to the left on immigration that the party is increasingly referring to anyone who opposes open borders or supports securing the border as being a racist.

“His comments came the same weekend that President Donald Trump renewed warning to Mexico that if they did not continue their new practice of ‘meaningfully apprehending illegals at THEIR Southern Border,’ he would tariff Mexico automobile imports to the U.S. 25 percent and if that didn’t work, the U.S. would close the southern border,” reports Breitbart.

This move has been part of the President’s efforts to secure the border and end the open borders policies the Democrats have been pushing for years.

And Obama has a warning for his own party.

“If you’re going to have a coherent, cohesive society, then everybody has to have some agreed-upon rules,” the former Democrat president told the group of young leaders from across Europe gathered in Berlin. The group numbered in the hundreds, according to Newsweek.

“And there are going to have to be some accommodations that everybody makes. And that includes the people who are newcomers. The question is, are those fair?” Obama asked.

Democrats aren’t interested in taking Obama’s warning seriously however.

They’re too busy fighting amongst themselves to see who can be the most left-wing proponent of open borders.

And the ensuing battle within the party could push the Democrats so far to the left that President Trump sweeps the 2020 elections.
