Illegal ImmigrantsIt’s no secret that Democrats’ political fortunes are sinking faster than the U.S.S. Titanic. And if they don’t do something quickly, there’s a good chance Republicans could take back control of the Senate in this mid-term election. Judging from the news in recent days, it appears the Obama Administration has taken action to break this political free-fall:

Let tens of thousands of illegal immigrants from Central America invade our borders.

Last year’s Supreme Court 7-2 ruling that federal law “precludes (the state of) Arizona from requiring a federal form applicant to submit information beyond that required by the form itself,” figuratively and now literally has opened the flood gates for illegal aliens to vote in American elections.

Only Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito dissented from the court’s ruling. The Constitution “authorizes states to determine the qualifications of voters in federal elections, which necessarily includes the related power to determine whether those qualifications are satisfied,” Thomas wrote in his dissent.

In another example of the political Bizarro World we live in, it’s easier for non-Americans to get access to government assistance (and be able to vote) by crossing the border illegally than going through the proper procedures. Democrats are banking on the fact that illegal immigrants will be more dependent on government programs, and vote for the party and candidates who offers more of these programs.

Although some states have stricter voter ID laws than others, it’s very possible that more illegal immigrants could cast votes and affect the outcomes of critical elections. Especially races in hotly-contested states such as Colorado, where a recent poll shows the race in a virtual dead heat.

Will this invasion of illegal immigrants allow Democrats to keep control of the Senate, or will dissatisfaction with President Obama’s policies be enough for the Republican resurgence?
