Cry spaces… Play Doh… Coloring Books…
These have all been made available not to kindergarteners, but to adults old enough to serve our country at war! The reason: Trump was elected and now they are sad.
This is not an isolated incident either. USA today reports multiple universities across the country that want to make Hillary supporters feel supported with counselors and therapy dogs or free passes to skip class among other coping devices.
And on the flip side, these schools are implicitly saying the students who did vote for Trump made the wrong decision and, in essence, caused grief and pain for Hillary supporters.
These schools (some of which are public universities and are paid for with our tax dollars) are making a peaceful transition of power comparable to a terrorist attack.
In an email to students, University of Michigan President Mark Schlissel wrote: “Our responsibility is to remain committed to education, discovery and intellectual honesty — and to diversity, equity and inclusion. We are at our best when we come together to engage respectfully across our ideological differences;to support all who feel marginalized, threatened or unwelcome;and to pursue knowledge and understanding.”
Trump voters probably do not feel safe when the entire school system is against them. Those who voted for Trump most likely do not feel welcome on campus when the deans and presidents are hosting cry rooms for the “traumatized” are denouncing Trump as evil.
This is terrible. Universities are supposed to be a place where opposing opinions can be argued and free thought can reign. But what we’re seeing here is universities implying Trump supporters better stay silent because they’ve already caused enough trouble.
You see, the university campus scene is a breeding ground for liberal thought. Many professors and those in academia were Obama supporters eight years ago and thought he was the savior. They related to him because he was one of them. He was a law professor before he started his political career.
Hillary is cut from the same progressive cloth and would continue to cater to the fancy university aristocrats.
So when Trump won, these elites who poo-pooed Trump’s base, were shocked. And now they are doing to Trump supporters the very thing they are railing against.
