Coming off his five-for-five sweep of the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic primaries, Donald Trump began a pivot toward the general election.

Turning his sights to November, Trump delivered a foreign policy address where he laid out the broad strokes of his vision for America and her role in the world.

But there was one target of his attacks that left political watchers realizing it was “game on” heading to November.

During his remarks, Trump took aim at the Obama-Clinton regime policy of foreign intervention that left America weaker around the world and allowed ISIS and other terrorist groups to grow stronger.

Nowhere is that more apparent than Libya.

Hillary’s war in Libya deposed strongman Muammar Gaddafi.

After Gadaffi’s death, jihadists took over the country.

And on September 11, 2012, America paid the price for Hillary’s foolish judgment when our consulate in Benghazi was attacked, killing four Americans including our Ambassador.

To this day, we do not know Barack Obama’s whereabouts during the attack.

And Trump blasted Hillary for her conduct surrounding the events.

Breitbart News reports:

“After Secretary Clinton’s failed intervention in Libya, Islamic terrorists in Benghazi took down our consulate and killed our Ambassador and three brave Americans. Then, instead of taking charge that night, Hillary Clinton decided to go home and sleep! Incredible.

Clinton blames it all on a video, an excuse that was a total lie. Our Ambassador was murdered and our Secretary of State misled the nation — and by the way, she was not awake to take that call at 3 o’clock in the morning.”

Trump’s reference to Hillary not being awake to answer the 3 am phone call digs at Hillary for her famous campaign commercial during her failed presidential bid of 2008.

She attacked then Senator Obama as being too inexperienced, and not someone America would want answering the call at three in the morning during an international crisis.

But Hillary failed her own 3 am test in Benghazi — she was nowhere to be found during the attacks.

And after the attacks, she lied to the American people and the families of those killed by blaming it on a YouTube video.

Donald Trump is clearly making Hillary’s tenure as Secretary of State the centerpiece of his general election argument that Hillary has no business being President of the United States.

And training the fire of his attacks on Hillary could help him score points with Republicans in the remaining primaries — and wrap up the nomination.

Part of sealing the deal for Trump is proving he can be a credible general election candidate.

Turning up the heat in his rhetoric toward Clinton could be one step closer to making that sale.
