Despite increasing tensions, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and President Trump have a lunch meeting at the White House on Monday. Afterward, there will be a Cabinet meeting, as per the White House’s schedule. A spokesman for McConnell says that he and President Trump will discuss the agenda for fall.

The fall agenda is said to include items such as passing tax reform, completing the budget, confirming judicial nominees (as well as others), and providing resources for those in the affected areas of recent hurricanes.

Tensions have been rising between Trump and McConnell, especially since Trump has been criticizing him for not accomplishing the items on his agenda. This includes not repealing and replacing ObamaCare. Trump has also been attacking McConnell for his actions (or lack thereof) on Twitter.

Trump isn’t the only one bashing McConnell. Five prominent conservative activist leaders (who are longtime critics of the Senate Majority Leader) have also been calling for McConnell and his team to resign.

Stephen Bannon (former chief strategist of the White House) has been declaring “war,” and is promising to fire all Senate Republicans who oppose the president and his views. According to The Hill:

“Yeah, Mitch, the donors are not happy. They’ve all left ya. We’ve cut your oxygen off, Mitch, OK?” Bannon said Saturday.

However, according to Republican Senator Lindsey Graham (S.C.),  McConnell is not really the GOP’s “problem.” According to The Hill:

“Our problem is that we promised to repeal and replace ObamaCare, and we failed. We promised to cut taxes and we have yet to do it,” Graham said. “If we’re successful, Mitch McConnell’s fine. If we’re not, we’re all in trouble. We lose our majority and I think President Trump will not get reelected.”
