It’s no understatement that Hillary Clinton’s campaign has been a succession of embarrassing gaffes.

She declared in an interview that she and Bill were “dead broke” after leaving the White House.

Hillary boasted of not having driven a car in over 20 years.

But video of a recent campaign stop caught her in the most humiliating failure yet in her attempt to relate to everyday Americans.

After losing seven of the last eight Democrat primary contests, and seeing the momentum swing to Bernie Sanders, Hillary headed to her adopted state of New York to campaign for delegates up for grabs in the Empire State’s upcoming April 19th primary.

To show she is in touch with everyday New Yorkers, Hillary staged a photo-op of her riding the subway.

Despite earning $5 million in paid speeches since leaving her position with the Obama regime, and her husband Bill pocketing over $100 million in speaking fees, Hillary attempted to “slum it” as a woman of the people.

There was just one little problem.

She utterly failed.

Within painful view of the cameras, Hillary completely botched swiping her Metrocard five times before being able to enter the subway station on 161st Street at Yankee Stadium so she could board the Number 4 train.

You can view the video here:

Some compared the flub to Democrat nominee Michael Dukakis ridiculously driving a tank during the 1988 presidential campaign in order to appear “tough enough” for the job of Commander-in-Chief.

And others noted the similarities to President George H.W. Bush being amazed with supermarket scanning technology during his 1992 re-election campaign.

Of course, the left-wing media tore Bush to shreds, but largely treated Hillary with kid gloves over her embarrassing experience on the subway.

The photo-op was thought up after Bernie Sanders flubbed by saying you needed tokens to ride the New York City subways.

The city switched from tokens to MTA cards in 2003, and Hillary schemed to prove herself a bona fide New Yorker, despite the fact she had no attachment to the state during her carpetbag Senate run in 2000 and having only represented the state for eight years in the Senate.

The episode was symbolic of the Democrat Party’s issues heading into the 2016 campaign.

Beyond having to defend the failed policies of the Obama regime, both domestically and abroad, the party’s two candidates are a combined 132 years old — and career politicians with no concept of the problems of everyday Americans who struggle to make ends meet in the failing Obama economy.

Sanders is a wild-eyed socialist whose tax plan even includes increased rates on workers making only $20,000 per year.

Hillary is a caricature of Marie Antoinette, and has lived high off the hog since the Clinton presidency ended.

Both Bill and Hillary have become fabulously wealthy doing nothing other than trade off their name.

They are the political equivalent of the Kardashians, but with far less ethics and charm.

Hillary reportedly charges a minimum speaking fee of $225,000 per hour.

Who would pay her that much money to speak unless they were under the impression the fee was in exchange for future political influence?

Big banks and universities have lined the Clintons’ pockets with speaking fees, allowing them to rise above the difficulties most Americans face  in order to put food on their tables and a roof over their heads.

Hillary attempted to prove she was in touch with everyday New Yorkers with her subway ride.

But like everything else Hillary has touched as First Lady, Senator and Secretary of State, it was a miserable failure.
