Trump’s resignation may be inevitable…and it may be sooner than many of us think. At least, that’s according to Trump’s ghostwriter, who wrote the president’s 1987 memoir, “The Art Of The Deal.”

Author Tony Schwartz holds this opinion about Trump’s potential resignation very strongly. And, for him, it is not a question of if, but when the president will resign.

Schwartz claims that President Trump will throw in the towel before the end of his term. He also states the president will leave before investigators can discover the full extent of the ties between Russia and the Republican campaign team.

According to Yahoo! News:

“The circle is closing at blinding speed,” the author tweeted. “Trump is going to resign and declare victory before Mueller and congress leave him no choice.”

“Trump’s presidency is effectively over,” he said in a follow-up tweet. “Would be amazed if he survives till end of the year. More likely resigns by fall, if not sooner.”

Schwartz spent approximately 18 months with Donald Trump while he was writing “The Art Of The Deal.” He also has spoken out about President Trump in the past, such as during the presidential campaign. He even went so far as to tell The New Yorker that Trump “put lipstick on a pig.”

However, Schwartz says he feels deep regret that he wrote the memoir for Trump. This is because the author feels he (and the memoir) are part of the reason for Donald Trump’s growing recognition and attention. Shwartz says the memoir makes Donald Trump appear to be more appealing than he actually is.
