trump-slamsIt didn’t take long for ‘all talk, no action” President Obama to take aim at Republican Presidential front runner, Donald Trump, in his final State of the Union address.

Although Obama never mentioned Donald Trump by name, the rebuke of the Donald was explicit.

Criticizing Trump’s popular campaign slogan “Make America Great Again”, Obama said, “There have been those who told us to fear the future, who claimed we could slam the brakes on change, promising to restore the past glory if we got some group or idea that was threatening America under control.”

“We need to reject any politics that targets people because of race or religion,” he continued.

Obama was referring to Trump’s recent comments calling for a “total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States,” in response to radical Islamic terrorism and the recent attacks in Paris and San Bernardino, California.

Donald Trump fired back on from his Twitter account, which boasts nearly 6 million followers.

” The #SOTU speech is really boring, slow, lethargic – very hard to watch!”

Trump didn’t stop there:

“The State of The Union speech was one of the most boring, rambling and non-substantive I have heard in a long time. New leadership fast!”

Earlier in an interview with Matt Lauer, Obama mocked the Trump presidency as a Saturday Night [Live] skit and referred to the Trump campaign as “simplistic solutions and scapegoating.”

Trump continues to pile on his lead as GOP frontrunner boasting the biggest rallies, leading in all the polls and beating Hillary Clinton in recent head-to-head matchups.
